Pitcher Stamina

Has anyone figured out on a rested pitcher how many pitches= a point of stamina?

Is that how it works? Each stamina point is worth X amount of pitches? That's weird. In my limited ootp experience I thought it was much more involved than that. Personally, I would have thought that, yes the number of pitches is a big factor, but also the types of pitches thrown would matter. Two similar pitchers with 70 stamina, let's say, go out and throw 100 pitches. One throws 70 fastballs (does ootp differentiate between 2 & 4 seam?), 15 sliders and 15 changeups. The other throws 40 fastballs, 30 curveballs, 10 sliders and 20 changeups. I would think the first pitcher's arm would be depleted a lot more.

Answering your question, that’s not how it works. Your analysis is on the right track; an easier way to put it is there are many variables in play.

That's great to hear. I didn't mean to imply what I wrote were the only factors in determining the loss of stamina, but I see that I kind of did write it that way. Thanks for clearing that up for future readers of this thread.

It’s all good. I just wanted it to be clear that it isn’t as simple as “X pitches is tied to each stamina rating”.

I thgought that was the easist way to ask the question.
I have a reliever who has a stimina of 7 a righthander. 4* but I am afraid to use him. Using 3 batter rule.Because I don't want him tired for the next couple of games everytime he pitches.

The answer is: It’s not that simple. There isn’t a formula to provide for this.
