Rehab assignement
Is a rehab assignement important?
Does it have any possitve effects (on ratings, other stuff)? I always bring players back right away! |

They're important. Just like spring training is. You need to get into game shape.
You don't just show up on opening day and start the season in top form. That's what rehab does, gets you some work, some playing time so you can get back into game shape. |

Does that "game shape" mean a change in ratings? Are the ratings lower when fresh of the DL? Otherwise I don't get it if ratings are the same. Last edited by RoteLaterne; 03-27-2020 at 08:05 AM. |

There's no obvious ratings drop, but there definitely seems to be a hidden factor for likelihood of success/failure in not doing the rehab starts for a player who has been out for ~20 days.

Yea, I wonder if there is a Modifier for Overall Proneness under the hood... but I believe there is something with rehab, like everything in the game its there for a reason.... |

Much more important for pitchers I find. Position players you can get away with if the injury is not too lengthy in my experience.

Rehab
I've found that there are times when a guy has been on the IL for quite a time and you don't send him for rehab, he gets hurt right away for a considerably longer time. If someone has been out 10 days or whatever it doesn't matter.

Ok, might send them to the minors just to make sure.
But in real life, a player is sent to rehab but still on the DL, right? In OOTP he has to be activated first. One positive side effect might be to buy time to find a spot on the active roster and DFA s.b. else in the meantime. Last edited by RoteLaterne; 03-28-2020 at 03:17 AM. |

Like others, I tend to use it after long injuries. I also use it if the guy I brought up to replace the injured guy is doing well and I don't have a spot for the injured guy.

If I have a guy come off the IL from a long stint and he does not rehab, he will more likely get injured again and possibly for much longer.

Rehab can buy you some time to clear space on your 40-man roster if necessary, too. (If the player is coming of the 60-day DL.)
