Why would different names change things? I think the OP is saying the three way tie for the batting title robbed Stan of a triple crown. The chances of that even happening are slim to none, but to have it happen when a guy is in the running for the triple crown has to be tough to swallow. Then again, I bet it makes it more memorable in the long run. I love stuff like this.

The ranked order is alphabetic which is why he finished third. The OP should check BA to 4-5-6 decimal places to see who actually won the batting title.

I didn't catch that...ugh. I wonder if that would make a difference triple crown wise?
