Performance Dropoff

Folks,

I've been playing this game all year, and I'm seeing this happen in the perfect league week in and week out. If you look at the screen capture you'll see my team's record each day (month) of this last week.

19-6 in April (Monday)
21-6 in May (Tuesday)
22-5 in June (Wednesday)
23-3 in July (Thursday)
11-16 in August (Friday)
13-14 in September (Saturday)

What is causing the team's performance to drop so dramatically at the end of the week? The only thing I can come up with is player fatigue, but I have subs at every position, and all players show a status of 100%. So is there some fatigue that doesn't show up in the screen stats? Is there something else I'm missing? This poor performance at the end of each week continues on into the playoffs. I can't make it through the playoffs, no matter how my team matches up to the competition.

Any ideas?

I´ve had this problem a lot as well. I never did any deep thinking on it, I just assumed it was the law of averages evening out and/or some rough patches in the schedule.

I´m curious if anyone has looked more closely at this.

Maybe your opponents are making adjustments or roster changes

Some of those guys spend a lot of effort managing their team on a daily basis.

I have had the opposite problem, where my team will start off weakly, with many batters with BABIP below .250; will be scuffling in every way, then second half of the season things take off.

I presumed it was the schedule or something to that effect. Also thought maybe some teams decided to tank midway through season. Obv that doesn't explain your situation, but I'm going with schedule... (also record in 1 run games tends to even out, but can take two yrs to do so sometimes. it tends to move to 50% for me.)

Strength of schedule and/or teams are getting updated throughout the season.
