Won't let me offer qualifying offer to FA? OOTP 20
I've acquired Gerrit Cole for the remainder of his contract, with 1.5 years remaining on his contract. I used him for the entire 1.5 years, and could not come to an agreement on contract extensions prior to the end of his contract.
I thought he'd be eligible for a qualifying offer, and in his bio it says he's compensation eligible, but why won't it give me the option to offer a qualifying offer at the end of the season??? He isn't among the names in the salary arbitration menu for me to check off the check box beside his name, instead he's in the rows/section below that reads "pending free agents without compensation". Please help, maybe I misunderstand how the compensation works. His status in the contract screen does say he's compensation eligible. |

There is an option in game that matches RL rules where a player may only be made a qualifying once (by anyone) in their career. I believe this option is enabled by default.
So my guess is that Cole was offered a QO sometime before you got him. You should be able to see this in his history.
