Cooper Breezes to B257 Crown

The Cooper Gutter Cats, a charter member of Our League, captured their first title with plenty of room to spare as the only team, excepting the schedule-stiffed New York Patriots, to play above .500. Many thanks to Magus978 for again helping with the stats, despite his dog not being allowed in the hunt by OOTP. A tip of the hat also to Charlatan for his yeoman work with silver.

D358 results

A slight correction: there was one playoff team in D358, the Ana Haina Parakeets sneaked in as a wild card team and the Bunnies just missed being a wild card team. The Parakeets won their wild card game and if they can beat the Flatbush Fiends in the NLDS, they will be promoted.

Here are the My league standings for this year (since there are only 3 teams, this does not count as official). I have also added these to the google spreadsheet:

Ana Haina: 15-7
Battery Point: 5-4
Seattle: 8-17

CliffMarkle Roadrunners recap 2025 season 65-97

ROADRUNNERS 2025 RECAP

A season of change had a dismal result for the CliffMarkle Roadrunners. The club finished with a 65-97 record - their worst performance ever - and ended up with the second fewest wins in the enitre Diamong .367. After three seasons at the Diamond Level the club will be competing in Gold next year.

It was a big turnover year personnel-wise, as the Roadrunners jettisioned all of their LIVE players in early April and opted to go with a Detroit Tiger focused historical roster. In an effort to find the right combination the Roadrunners used 21 different pitchers with 11 of them starting at least one game. The most reliable starter was Steve Carlton (13-9, 3.69) but a very pleasant surprise was the work of Burt Hooton (3-2, 3.22) after he was brought up to the big club in August. Hooton threw one of only 3 complete game shutouts by the Roadrunners this season.

Bob Feller (6-11, 4.11) fanned more than 1 an inning but struggled with walks and ended up with a 6-11 record for the second consecutive year. Whitey Ford (4-14, 5.38) was given an opportunity to have a full seaosn in the rotation but was relegated to the pen in August after a terrible season. Although he struggled late in the year Mark Fidrych (7-9, 5.17) showed promise beyond his ratings in his first year with the club but fellow Tiger Denny McLain (4-8, 5.74) was wildly inconsistent.

The Roadrunners were at the bottom of the National Conference in virtually every offensive category. Hank Greenberg (.214,20,70) led the team in homeruns and rbi's while Johnny Callison (.282,13,47) had the top average. Alan Trammell (.275,12,49) had a great start after being picked up in May but came back to earth with a late season slump. After hitting 30 homers at diamond a year ago, Bobby Murcer (.230,14,47) endured a terrible season. Auction house pickup Robin Ventura (.225,7,43) provided solid defense at the hot corner but never got going at the plate.

There is some hope for next season as a pack earned in August brought Charlie Gehringer. Gehringer hit .297 with 4 homers and 20 rbi's in 44 games but just as importantly provided outstanding defense - another area where the Roadrunners clearly struggled in 2025. The organization has chosen to focus it's earned points on packs rather than the auction house and for a change it paid off with the addition of Gehringer and pitcher Larry Jackson.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2026
With only 652 earned points available the 2026 opening day roster will be the same as we finished 2025 with. The only newcomer will be pitcher Larry Jackson, who came in our final earned pack of the year and will battle with Hooton for the 5th starter position. However, the drop to Gold might improve the Roadrunners fortunes in 2026.

Here is what the 2026 Roadrunners look like with 2025 stats and their rating.

that guy is a beast..... I'd kill to have that card.... (literally... who do I need to kill? )

just for fun, I added a couple conditional formats on the google sheet to highlight in green/bold the most career wins and the highest winning percentage (edit: also I'll work on highlighting the tier winners each year with a color to signify the level they won (iron/bronze/silver/etc)... just added bronze to Cooper for 2025 as an example)

Wow. What a miracle. They must have gone on some crazy run to qualify.

The final standings:

It's not saying much, but this was our best Our League campaign ever. Next season I think will be even better. With a change of ballpark factors and a change of hitting philosophy, I think we'll be able to enjoy more general competence at the plate, which in turn may translate to less pressure being on our pitchers to be perfect, which quite frankly, they are anything but.

Thanks for the correction, and though there weren't enough teams (need four) to award a crown in Diamond, these stats will be added to the teams' all time record, the first of which, through 2025 will be posted as soon as I finish typing this.

Still need the regular season results for G334 to award the last crown.

All Time Our League Standings

Attachment 626735First edition. While I was getting this together, I forgot about the Terra Incognita - Harlem Hatchets match-up. I didn't miss much, as the Rustlers were chopped in three straight. Our League gold will have at least one new member next year. Palolo still carries our hopes for an Our League World Series. Good luck to the Hatchets and Puppies.

The final standings:
Wow, didn't see Cooper doing so well this year. I did a couple upgrades with my earned PP, also ripped some garbage packs. We're playing game 5 of the division series in 20 minutes.

Thanks for doing this. It enables me to keep my all time sheet simple for posting here, while giving us a place to go for a deeper dive. You just cut my season end workload to about 5 or 10 minutes, and I can post the simple sheet weekly.

I have decided that fun is worth much more than potential 3,000PP for my My League team and I have put myself into the entry pool this instance. The good news is I have got 12 legal players from my initial pulls so I only need to buy 13 more to be a legal punching bag in Iron.

My current theme is Asian/World, so I will try to embrace my Asian heritage if possible but if I can't(too little Asian players even with Live being legal; and too many pitchers, too little fielders), I will try to prioritize non-US players.

Username is Goliathus3. I have added everyone in EP, Iron and Bronze.

Yup, I am on that site and plenty of the players don't have a card for being just mediocre or fringe player in the past or only have a LIVE one.

Although the Impalers and Cowboys didn't do so well in Our League, both are playing in the LCS on opposite sides. There's a possibility of an Our League World Series in Gold.

The Cowboys finished 1 game back in the division, but won the Wild Card game and swept the Division Series 3-0. We face our division rival, a Cincinnati Reds theme team, in the next round. We always seem to have some sort of rivalry every year in the division/playoffs!

This means we'll be promoted to Diamond next year. Don't know how well I'll do there.

Mokes Capture Last Crown for 2025

Kaneohe, who've suffered through a bit of turmoil, including a season on the sidelines, came back this year to add a second crown in Our League G334. By the way, Green Lake would have been eligible for the crown, despite playing less than 10 games, due to the small amount of games the others had on the docket.
