The Diamondbacks had already won, so we can't talk about them very much, so... MORE RAGGING ON TEAMS!!!!
-This was the 4th time the Tigers had made the playoffs, and in 3 of the 4 years they lost in the ALCS in 7 games.
-This was also the third time the Twins had made the World Series and they have lost every time.
-The Cardinals and the Mets continue their playoff woes. (The Mets have never even made the World Series in 13 playoff appearances) Get it together!

So the Kansas City Royals are the 18th team to win a championship. They did it by beating the Nationals in seven games (who also still need to find that magic). And the Tigers lose in seven games in the ALCS for the fourth time.

So I am THRILLED with the way the season turned out. Only 3 teams that hadn't won yet made the postseason, and 2 of them played in the World Series. Plus, I have a friend who's a Padres fan, and when I told him, he was super excited (mostly that they weren't the last one). 19 of 30 teams have won a championship at this point. (Also, I might need someone to look this up, but I'm pretty sure the Padres are the first team that went below .500 to win a championship)

I like to think that the Ghost of Seasons Yet To Come visited DeWitt, showed him this, and it's why he fired Matheny when he did instead of waiting until god knows when.

Jeez, Cardinals, get your sheezy togeezy. The friggin' Maxi Pad-res won before you did.

So for the FOURTH time, the Minnesota Twins cannot pull the trigger in the World Series and the Brewers get their second title.

So in a year where no new champions made the League Championship Series, the Astros beat the Dodgers in a rematch of 2017. Still sitting at 19 champions.

So the Minnesota Twins FINALLY break through and win a championship in their fifth World Series appearance and 18th playoff appearance. We are now 2/3 of the way there, as 20 different teams have won championships (10 from each subleague). Here on out, it's going to be significantly tougher, but I have faith in the teams that remain (which are the Rockies, Tigers, Angels, Yankees, Mets, Athletics, Phillies, Mariners, Cardinals, and Nationals, by the way)

No single-season or all-time records have been broken besides Devers breaking the HR record (he retired with 791), and Blaze Jordan setting the all-time strikeouts record with 3327. The longest hit streak is 34 games (completed by Ernesto Saldarriga in 2037 and Juan Toro in 2042). We'll see if any more get broken into the future (at some point, I'm expecting this simulation to start getting really weird). Anyway, let's see what the second half of the 20th century brings...

MVP: AL- Donte Compass (DET) NL- Jon Mills (CIN)
Cy Young: AL- Joel Kuykendall (HOU) NL- Dawson
ROY: AL- Jorge Aguayo (TOR) NL- Katsushi Kimura (SF)

HOF: Blaze Jordan

So I'm pissed. We had 2 teams that hadn't won championships yet BOTH lose in Game 7 of the League Championship series, and in a rematch of 2017 (and 2048) the Los Angeles Dodgers win for the fifth time in this simulation. Still sitting at 20 of 30 winners.

HOF: Zabala

So those decades of frustration turn out to be worth it for the Seattle Mariners, as they finally win a World Series. We are now at 21 different champions.

Jesus Christ, Phillies. A 109-win season, a pitching Triple Crown, a 2-0 series lead in the NLDS against an 82-win team, and you blow 3 straight? TWENTY playoff appearances without a championship? Get it together.

Why dont you say which team the CYA came from? You list the team for the MVP and ROY. Which players from today are managers?

So while the Phillies did come back from being down 3-1 to force a Game 7, they still can't deliver as the Los Angeles Angels win their first World Series since 2002. 22 of 30 teams have won a championship.

Here are Kopech's...

and Cease's...

Neither of them were super successful, but they stuck around for a few years. Anyway, on to 2055.

MVP: AL- Brad Bowman (BAL) NL- Jones
Cy Young: AL- Lupe Pacheco (Triple Crown winner) (LAA) NL- Jones
ROY: AL- Luis Alfredo Howells (CLE) NL- Rodolfo Llera (COL)

HOF: Puello

Regular season standings...

The batting leaders...

The pitching leaders...

And the playoffs...

So in their 22nd playoff appearance and 4th World Series appearance, the Philadelphia Phillies finally get a World Series crown (and the Tigers finally win a pennant). We are now at 23 different champions.

So the Minnesota Twins win again. Still at 23 champions.

There's quite a variety of teams remaining, from the big markets (Yankees, Mets, Nationals) to the tiny teams trying to make a mark (Rockies, Athletics), and even some teams that have enjoyed some success in the past (Tigers, Cardinals). Which team do you guys think is going to be next?
