in game promotion
I am wondering if there eventually be something like in game promotion of certain star players on team like they do prior and during pre-season games to help drive up season ticket sales. Wonders if there will be some feature along that line in OOTP 15 ??

Good idea. A promotional budget and calendar?

This used to be in OOTP up through version 6.5 I believe. I would be in favor of bringing it back.

I remember promotion days. You could do 5 a month and iirc you could name them to your liking. A missed feature fo sho

I don't mind if they bring it back only if it's optional. Don't want to have to deal with that and have another area where you have some sort of an advantage over the AI teams.

What if they just add it for show and it doesn't have any affect on the financials (including attendance)?

Personally, I would want it at full capacity, i.e. if they brought it back.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if it had a little bump in attendance, but only a little bump. I would like to see some of the promos tied to a player on the club. The higher the player's local popularity, the more the bump in attendance. But the more you tie it to that particular player, the less effect it has. Stuff like Cap Day and Old-Timers' Day would each be a fixed affect on attendance (although Old-Timers' Day could be attached to the club's overall record from 10-30 years earlier or something like that). But Bat Day and Bobblehead Day could be attached to a specific player. Maybe have a list of about 7-10 available items and as the GM you can select 5 or 6 of them for your team. But those are all unnecessary extras. Just having it back the way it was is fine. And I don't know why the AI couldn't run one promotional day per month to get rid of the financial advantage for the user. And/or just have the attendance bumps be very, very small, which they likely are in real life. |
