Not sure if this will help or not. It is the 1971 Arco Phillies card of Money. Alas, he has no hat.

An Amazing Resource
I just happened to stumble over a potential treasure trove for the enterprising photo aficionado.
July - University of Virginia - Virgo is the University of Virginia Library's collection of all the old news footage from Channel 10 in Salem, WSLS-TV, from 1951 through 1971. That link is to July, 1969 but the full range of years is easily reached from that page. There is an awful lot of minor league baseball in there, beautifully preserved and digitized and easily accessed. These are quick screen caps after a perfunctory look at the intuitively arranged menu. They interviewed not just members of the local affiliate (Pirates) but also visitors, leading to some unexpected appearances. Just thumbing through the indices I've seen names like Jim McKee and John Lamb (and, for you fans of guys who never made it despite multiple years on the 40-man, players like Dick Hendrix and Luther Quinn). By the way: the film (and there is some game action too) all comes with PDFs of the accompanying scripts! Below: Future Pirates Dave Cash and Lou Marone, and future Padre Ron Slocum of the 1968 Salem Rebels, and the manager of the visiting 1967 Marion Mets -- Birdie Tebbetts - along with the team's farm director, Whitey Herzog: Last edited by Merkle923; 07-27-2017 at 10:15 PM. |

The Big Cat
Thanks to Expos 1969-2004 for the nice photos on this page of one of my FAVORITE PLAYERS, ANDRES "THE BIG CAT GALARRAGA.
I was really sad to see Mike Scioscia give him very limited opportunites late in the 2004 season with the Angels and then manager, Willie Randolph give him almost no opportunity at all to make the Mets during Spring Training 2005, forcing Andres into retirement one home run short of 400. He was one of the best first basemen of his era with 399 HR, over 2300 hits, over 1400 RBI, and a .288 career batting average, although with 2002 strikeouts, (#3 all-time at retirement, # 6 today) you'd be justified to say "The Cat" whiffed much too often. |

Juan Navarrete - Montreal Expos
Mexican-born second baseman Juan Navarrete never played for the Expos or in MLB.
He played 6 years (1972- 1977) for the Expos minor league teams (West Palm Beach, Quebec, Memphis and Denver). |

This is a familiar face in an atypical uniform design, no?
