Kelly Pavlik & Shane Mosley
Does anyone have an up-to-date rating for Kelly Pavlik?
I haven't watched him enough to rate him accurately. Also, I was thinking about rating Shane Mosley from Lightweight all the way up to Jr. Middleweight. I think he would have made a great Jr. Welter Champ had he taken a year or two to fight in that division. I was just curious to see if anyone else had already rated him in all 4 weight classes. |

Ice Tea - nice work on Pavlik, that looks like a great rating to me!

I was able to view some of Pavlik's "work" at YouTube. I was impressed by the way he came back from the knockdown against Taylor in their first fight. If they still had Saturday afternoon boxing on free TV, I believe Kelly Pavlik could be as popular (or moreso) than fellow Youngstown Ohio fighter - Ray Mancini.
Thanks again for the download |

I also watched the HBO story about his life and background. What a good story a lot of sports fans in general are missing out on. That's one of the "subconscious draws" of this sport - the connection made between fans and fighter.
It's too bad potential fans out there have to "dig" to find out what's happening with the sport of boxing these days. |

You said it Jim. Boxing is a great sport if people would just give it half a chance. I miss the fights on Sat. & Sunday afternoons. We could still have the HBO & PPV fights but guys could get a following if they were on network TV. To be honest though, even if they put fights on like they did in the 80's, it wouldn't be the same now with all the cable choices & video gamers. The #'s would be down either way.

That's true, the numbers would be down, but it would still help the sport. I think sports like boxing do pretty good on weekends. There are sports bars that always have their TV's tuned into something (soccer, football, baseball, etc.). And these days, the same event is played over and over again.
I think an Internet TV type of thing would be great for sports like boxing. This is where niches and niche sports could really thrive - online. |

* I have a version of him in the three weight classes but not JWW. He would have been a great one. I remember his first world title bout with P. Holiday...that was a tough one.

Good points Jim, I agree. Speaking of which, I was just on fightnews & read that Dana White will be in the Sept. issue of Playboy & he apparently claims MMA is killing boxing. Why does he always go after boxing? I keep hearing that but the PPV #'s I see indicate that while MMA #'s have gone up, the ones for wrestling have gone down. Boxing has done the same/pretty well & even better for really good/great PPV fights. I want to read what he says but I could see why MMA guys would watch boxing. If I were an MMA fighter, I know I'd have to be good/great @ all the various stuff but being a great boxer would make it easier to beat a lot of guys on your way up & not have to worry as much about tapping out if you could beat them via good/great boxing/striking skills. |

Can I import your Shane Mosely without overwriting the one that's already there so I can look at the differences side by side? I was just curious.

^ Sure you can. A question should pop up on your screen asking if you want to over-write. I just click "No" & it should import the file so you can see both yours & the new one.

Alright, I did it. It was a little tricky because I had my version of Shane in a single group called "Current". The screen asks you if you want to import the fighter letting you know that you already have a fighter with the ID in the database, but you go ahead and choose "yes" anyway.
When it asks if you want to overwrite the existing file, THEN you choose NO. Thanks for your help, guys.

Yeah Jim, that's always worked for me. I just did that with Ice Tea's latest Pavlik version. I have the 10 rated Kelly in the game & also IT's 11 rated version now too.
