Position Ratings not improving?
Hi folks -
I have a historical league going where, for whatever reason, players do not gain experience at positions and improve their individual position ratings. For example : a 10 range / arm / error / turn DP SS who is rated as a 10 as a SS should be able to play 2B in the majors, either during the regular season, or in spring training, and slowly gain a rating at 2B. if you look on the edit tab, the "Experience" column at 2B should slowly grow from 0 to 200 as he plays that new position. This isn't happening. is there a setting that turns this off? Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks!

I believe that you need to have Player Development turned on for a historical player to gain experience at a different position than they played at that point in their career historically.

^^ I'm pretty sure this is correct, but remember that if you turn player development on they will also develop in all other ways (hitting, pitching, etc, both good and bad) as the game engine takes over....

But you can lessen that drastically if you put randomness at 200 which means hardly any weird development arcs will happen and 90% of the time, players will develop normally, even with injuries

I think you mean to put it at 0. A TCR of 200 could result in some crazy developmental swings.

You know, I really should have thought of this during my current historical league. I turned on player development to get positional ratings, but never thought to change the TCR to zero. Thanks for the reminder!

ok, wow - had no idea that there was a separate player dev setting for position ratings. Where is it even located? I've never seen or noticed it before.
Here are my settings, you can see player development is turned on. Players develop... just their position ratings do not. http://bit.ly/1oRHt4G
