OOTP 15 Patch #2 Beta available!

Hey guys,

since we will be taking a few days off now, we figured we'd release the beta build of patch #2 (Version 15.2.4) to the public. It fixes many reported bugs, improves the real roster set (need to create a new game for the changes to apply) and tweaks a few AI-related features.

Unfortunately, some Mac users still have issues with crashes when they enable 3D. We are working on a fix, but this patch does not include it yet.

Update info: This is a beta build, so we can not guarantee it is 100% stable, but it has been in beta testing for a couple of days already and no serious issues were reported, so it should be fine. We do suggest to back up your league(s), however, before applying the patch.

To apply the patch, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Important: This beta patch is only for OOTP 15 versions which were purchased directly from us. It is not compatible with Steam or the Mac OSX AppStore! These versions will be updated once patch #2 is officially released.

Two main issues for me are the bugs involving adding the new leagues to an existing game (all GM's get fired & players contracts get messed up) and the bugs involving MLB players joining the international leagues, dominating, and then the next season getting sent to the minor leagues or even being released completely likely due to the foreign player roster limits.

Can anyone confirm if these have been fixed? I'm assuming the latter hasn't been looked into yet because it was only discovered the other day.

Is a "patch file" being offered instead of the full setup? I don't want to keep having to reinstall my name files every time a patch is released...

Not sure what was changed but kudos for the update!

Hoping the "force small font" issue is addressed shortly. Staying with 14 until then:

Looks like the bugs are still there in regards to adding international leagues to an existing (imported) game.

Downloaded and installed the beta for patch 2, and I attempted to add the international leagues to my old game save.

Once again, 25 MLB GM's were immediately fired. I didn't think to look and compare the salaries of the MLB players though, to see if the issue with them being messed up are still there.

Anyways, just a heads up to everyone. Hoping this gets fixed soon. Excited to add the leagues!

edit: It did mess up salaries.

Hi all, I just downloaded the patch, but Chrome automatically quarantined it and said it is malware. Did anyone else have this happen?

I downloaded in Chrome and has no issues.

Looks like the bug I reported is still there as well. I am clearly over the salary cap. It says I have no money available for extensions yet I can still sign my own players to extensions.

What exactly were the bugs that this beta was supposed to fix anyway?? I'm curious to know, but I don't really want to start a new season since I'm into May already on my existing one. What does it fix?? Thanks for the patch anyway Markus and Andreas. :-)

Are you in commissioner mode? If so, you're allowed to overspend.

That is an excellent thing to point out, but I am not in commissioner mode. And the game correctly won't let me spend on free agents, but somehow the extensions are going through.

Just curious, does anyone know how the roster set was updated? I've been pretty religiously updating it myself. Any of the imperfections posted in this thread I've corrected in my game, in addition to many other issues (wrong minor league stadiums, correcting injury times for Broxton, Janssen, etc.) so I'm thinking I should stick with what I have.
