Ballparks sound cool. Widescreen optimization, nice. Like every year looking forward to getting my hands on the latest and greatest.

And the yearly preorder is in.

In love with the large impressive feature list this year! Impressive as always.

One question though. Will reserve clause era rules be improved? Making it possible to negotiate the player contracts (Koufax anyone?) instead of having everyone automatically renewed. Especially frustrating when you have one day between the WS and the offseason to release a player for free when you have the 20% contract severance pay option on.

And does the AI properly utilize the rule 5 draft yet? (not keeping 37 year old 0.5 star players in AAA over 2.5 / 4.5 future stars in the draft on their 40 man)

Not sure about the reserve clause rules, but the AI will be improved in every area of the game, yes.

How will conversion of v14 leagues be handled? As stated, there are going to be real international leagues this year? Will an imported league be Abe to take advantage of this new feature?

Awesome news - with all the new records tracked, ie: walk offs, 1 hitters, etc etc; Will "Accomplishments" in league history be adjustable?

This has been requested for several years now. If you run a schedule that's say 90 games, nobody is going to hit 50 HR's. It would be nice if we could adjust them according to our schedule or have the game pro-rate them to our schedule length.

Thanks

Thumbs up

HEINSOHN-ASTIC !!!

Looking forward to this ... with great anticipation ... (It may sounded a little off, but what does a 3-D ballpark would look like, here, at the OOTP's World ...) ...

I know it is sad, but the feature I am the most excited about is "teams can retire uniform numbers".

Sad nothing. That's actually a feature quite a few people have been requesting for a long time now. It's definitely a cool addition to OOTP.

I am more interested in potential bug fixes than most of the changes listed here (though, of course that ignores things like interface changes because I haven't actually seen them), but I do have a question...

...with these new '3-D ballparks' will we be FORCED to change the park pics we use in the game? I have no desire to use ball flight animations so I don't see an upgrade there at all...

I believe I've seen word 'optional' in the letter.

Under "Enhanced player history tracking (yearly salary, 2nd & 3rd place award finishes, grand slams, walk-off hits, 1- hitters, and other game performances)", will grand slams be tracked as MLB records, by season and career? Obviously things will be easier to track with a player history entry, but today I'm having to track both in a spreadsheet to see if I can ever take down Gehrig's record. It would be most excellent if the game kept both All-Time and Season records of that particular stat.
