Rookie League
Maybe someone with more minor league experience can answer a question for me
See that my ootp rookie season is 68 games long so i looked up the last few real life draft classes to see how long some players at various rounds played their way up the minor league system I have noticed that in the last few years a lot of draft picks (esp first rounders) wind up playing 2 or 4 or 7 games in rookie league or class A ball the year they are drafted, and that is all baseball reference has them playing My question is, is this more due to a signing problem, it took the parent team that long to sign the player that there were only a couple of weeks left in the season? Or is there some other reason why so few draft picks were playing anything more than a few minor league games in their draft season? Curious thanks |

Are they starting pitchers? If so, then I would expect them to pitch in only 2 or 4 or 7 games, depending on when they signed. You are also correct that every player does not sign immediately after the draft. If a guy signs with three games left in the season, then he is only going to play three games.

no many were position players, who got in 9 or 10 games. So I am guessing that it must have been a signing thing. if so- then in the last few years it seems it is taking players and teams quite a long time to sign thanks |
