I might be interested but none of the links work on the website to look at the team available.

I was interested too, but the site being down and the shoddy design makes me a bit wary. However, the league has been running for an awfully long time now so that's at least something. Summerside's division looks to be dominated by Halifax year in and year out, which, depending on your attitude, could be a good challenge or a bit too frustrating.

it is a solid league, we just had an accident with the website and a bad back-up so we had to use a really old back-up and everything hasn't been fixed.
anyway, there are links in the forum to the reports also http://cbl-online.info/report/league.html

To be honest, I usually don't care about what a leagues website looks like. I'm not a professional web developer, nor do I plan to pay one. So, you get what I can put together. Considering I have no experience doing this, I think it looks okay (thanks to some help from TSN.ca ). And while I don't always have time to update it - that's okay - because I feel it's more important that I get sims done on time, answer guys questions, etc. (And sorry, I would have provided the direct link to the reports sooner, but I rarely check these boards now - so please e-mail me if you have questions! ). Besides, our league has several qualities that are far more important than a flashy website: - We've been around for a long period of time. Over 20 in-game seasons now. In a game where your goal is to build a championship team, this is key as the last thing anyone wants to do is to take over a team, start building a contender, and have the league fold just as you begin to be successful. - We have an active group of owners. If you're looking to make trades, improve your team, etc there are guys out there who are always willing to talk to you to try and work something out. - We have a great group of guys - important, because it keeps some discussion on the forums. Some guys post news stories, we had one owner do some podcasts, etc. Anyways, with the playoffs and off-season approaching, Summerside is still available. The team report page is online at: http://cbl-online.info/report/team4.html If anyone is interested, drop me an e-mail at cjurksch@dal.ca Last edited by chrisj; 10-07-2007 at 02:57 AM. |

Whoa there. I was not insulting your ability to hack together a site. I was criticizing you for not making sure your links work (it was my bad in saying the word design). It made me wonder how much attention you pay to other details.
I did note how long the league was going which says it must be a hell of a lot better than most leagues out there. Anyway, good luck in filling the vacancy. |

Fair enough - but as noted above, we had some website problems last month. When the site was put back up, not all of the links had been fixed. I've just been too busy personally to fix them since then.

Just for those that are skeptical, Chris runs a very good league and does an overall great job. I've been playing OOTP leagues for a long time and god knows I've played in a ton of online leagues... This is a very, very solid league with a lot of active owners - just go to the forums and you'll figure that out.
I do tend to agree - I don't need the front web page to be special, the most fun and the way I judge an online league is by it's sims and participation on the forums. This league delivers on both and will be around for some time. If there are openings, it is rare and if your looking for a 6.5 league, this is a solid one - period. |

bump
I believe the CBL is looking for at least one GM. Canadian teams, fictional rosters, great commish, solid GMs..who could ask for more? I believe the teams that are available would be very competitive with some TLC. Days 1 and 2 of free agency start tonight and we are only a few picks into the draft. A new GM could get in early enough to make an immediate impact. Please check the links listed above and contact Chris J if interested.

Bump again.
The CBL is looking for an owner for the Montreal club. This is a very active league with great owner participation. If you want to join a very well run, active OOTP6.5 league, this is one of the best options around.
