First year of OOTP...

Always was a Baseball Mogul guy... anyways... I like all these options and I want to start in 1871... should I even have minor leagues, and if I don't, will these fix later in the game when they are actually implemented? I'd like to maintain as much of the true course of history as I can, except with my own play, of course.

Thanks!

Was more wondering if they got added in when expansions happened or what not, but i've figured out through the forums that I'll have to incorporate them at the proper time. If I last that long, 0-1 with my first game as the newly hired GM of the White Stockings...Lots of errors with my starting 2B hurt and people having to play out of position.

Don't feel bad. There were lots of errors during this time in history anyway. No gloves and minimal development of defensive strategy at that point.

Either 1873 or 1874 is when my minors were adopted.

I'm working on starting a game with AAA, AA, A in 1871... will have fictional players though. We'll see how it goes.

How were they "adopted"? What does that mean exactly? You created them or they just came up?

They showed up after my league went to 60 games.

Started off with a historical National and American League with 4 teams each. Here is my dynasty http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...seball-ii.html

I think his question, (and mine), would be "How many minor league affiliates *appeared*", and was it just through the course of normal expansion and team movement? If so, I may have to just start over in 1871.. I started in 1901 with no minors, because they were obviously still truly unaffiliated with the majors at this point... wonder if they will develop in my game like they did yours?

Each of the teams has a AAA team so far. The AAA teams started in 1872.

The only question I have no is if these only start up in a 1871 start... that would make it worth starting in 1871 to me if *everything* develops naturally, and would also save me a lot of customization and research when adding the league. Thanks for the info!

Keep in mind that the minor league teams that the game adds will not be the historical minor league teams.

Shoot, they didn't even have bats until 1877!
