Season 19 - 2037 - General Discussion
Raccoons remain an upper-half Diamond team that finds it hard to improve anymore just with three packs per week or whatever they can scurry up…
...but my highlight was Craig Swan winning the Pitcher of the Month title in May … 5-0 with a 2.06 ERA and 18 K in 39 IP... my, Swannie, aren't you the prettiest boy …?

I'm getting destroyed 21-39 in my first season in silver for my theme team. I abandoned the theme pretty quick...

The Hoggs are 42-35, a couple games back in their division but a couple games up in the wildcard. Our ERA so far this season is under 3.00 but our offense is, as per usual, inconsistent.

Agree...theme teams are hard to maintain when the competition sends out their best players every game. My Knuckleballers team was able to move up quickly but then ran into a wall once the competition was able to abuse their low movement stats. They continue to remain competitive in Diamond. I really hope we will have a better way of having theme teams in PT20 and beyond or an easier way to setup our own closed leagues. I am still hoping for an option that allows leagues to be locked down and remain the same with no promotions & demotions. |

The Hoboken Zephyrs are, as expected, struggling in their first season in Perfect (P401). Currently sitting at 35-47, which is 2 games better than their Pythag record. Amazingly enough, they're 3.5 games up on relegation at the moment so it's possible they won't be one-and-done.

Northborough sitting at 30-54. Trying everything I can think of to not get relegated, but I'm doubtful since I'm on pace for 108 losses and I'm the worst team in the league with a pythag of 26-58. I should actually be worse. I got lucky to be on a 108 loss pace...

Healy have forged ahead to 58-47, which puts us 5 1/2 games up in their division, our rivals all having terrible months.
The Brooklyn Dodgers went 6-19 to fall from the lead to .500 (though they're still 6 games above Pythag so methinks they might be in for a bit more pain before the season ends). The Seoul Heroes, who made a foray into Perfect 2 seasons ago, went 9-14 after a 10-16 June, to also drop to .500 ball. They're 4 games below Pythag, so they may well bounce back (the Hoggs are 6 games below, in case you're wondering, which you're probably not but hey, what are ya gonna do? ). We've only hit 60 homeruns, less than half of what the biggest slugging team in the conference has hit and 2nd-lowest in the league, but we've only allowed a measly 49 in return. The next best team in the league has allowed 80. I play in a neutral park, too, so I wonder what that number would be like if we made things pitcher-friendly? Probably a ton of 15+ innings games as my offense struggled to give my pitching any run support. Our team ERA is 2.86. I wonder if I can keep it below 3.00 for the season. That would be a first for me. de Grom has a 1.86 ERA from 26 starts (I run a 4-man rotation). It's not like he's been super-lucky either. His BABIP is .274 and his FIP 2.70. Oh yeah, I ditched the Bryce Harper experiment pretty quickly and went back to trusty Paul Waner. He's hitting .244/.327/.382, with 4 homers, which isn't great but it was a whole lot better than the sub-300 OBP Harper was putting out. I also added Blake Treinen during the offseason. He was overpriced, of course, but I had the PP so figured, why not?

Actually if we could get that kind of league we could make it that players can only be used once. In other words only one Team would own a Kevin Brown. That way we would never have a Brown vs Brown game. Also the league leaders would really mean something instead of 5 Trouts leading in war. Also we could have pride in owning the only Willie Mays in the game. I kind of hate this thing where everyone owns a Trout or Betts....

Your own fantasy league OOTP.
I think it would be a huge challenge to get started and implemented with 30 teams but could be a blast. It would require a great moderator like Orcin until the game can handle it for everyone. I am really curious where Markus and team take Perfect Team. There are lots of areas that could be fun. I have a feeling once there is convenient IPad mobile support, Zorro will have a team in PT20 even if you are much more casual about it :-)

If it was a lockdown league of 30 teams we would not need a moderator at all. There would be nothing to moderate. The PT league would be set with the original 30 people or friends in it. No going up or down and no need for multiple owners of players.....

I was referring to only having a single player per league (one Trout per league). Not sure how you would manage that part unless you have some type of draft, hence a moderator to get it going and sorted out.

Wow a draft would be wonderful. I would pay for that.... but.....Then all the cards would have to be shown. So we would probably have starter packs and from then on any duplicates would be eliminated before you could see them and replaced with different cards. (Before the forum destroys me with hate on how this is dumb and would not work, I was just replying to a post about a option for a lockdown league with my dream. Lol) Everybody has a dream. You may say I’m a dreamer, But I’m not the only one.😁

The Hoggs will continue their of never missing the playoffs at Diamond Level (this will be 8 seasons in a row - with 1 season in Perfect along the way). Our pitching has been phenomenal, our hitting mid-range. We've struggled to hit homers this season, ranked 14th in the conference. But we've allowed the least by far so I guess that makes up for it

I think the lockdown league seems like an easier wish compared to a league with draft. It certainly would have been nice in the Orcin league a few seasons ago. We would not have to worry about the adding/removing teams Sunday night.

14th season in Diamond Level and back to the play-offs after winning a one-game play-off for the wild-card spot

Right the opposite; Raccoons lost a tie-breaker for the second wild card and will remain in Diamond for an eighth consecutive season. Quite steady for a team that originally changed leagues all but twice in the first ten seasons.

The Hoboken Zephyrs struggled in their first season in Perfect, going 69-93. On the plus side (kinda), they finished 5 games under their Pythag record of 74-88. The midseason pickup of 92 Warren Spahn helped the Zephyrs close out the season without suffering relegation. Here's hoping for another season of mediocrity.

Well, the Hoggs have swept Matt's Toronto River Devs to advance to the Sub-League Series. We now face wildcard entry OBL Children of Thanos.
