Salary retention?

Will this years version include a way to retain salary for only specific seasons. instead of retaining for the entirety of the contract will we be able to, say, just retain for the current season. this seems like it would be fairly simple to include with the main salary retention already included(im just assuming, i know nothing of coding) and it wold be an amazing feature, especially for online leagues.

This would be great. The only reason I think it may not be so simple is that it would impact trade AI.

It's more the weird case that it's actually more complicated to have a retention per season than to just have it apply to the entire contract.

You can always add cash or return a different bad contract to simulate coverage for the current year.
