Arizona Fall League

Felt like the one aspect missing from last years addition of the AFL was the ability for MLB teams to nominate specific players to play in the league (with the players obviously having the option to turndown the invitation). Would be useful to be able to use the AFL like teams do in real life to get specific players more reps (like high end prospects who missed large parts of the season with injuries).

Not sure if this has been included in this years game or if it’s maybe a doable last minute addition. What do people think?

Do you mean you as the GM of a MLB team have the option to pick what players are sent to the AFL?

Yeah instead of the AFL team picking players at random the MLB GM would get to shortlist players to be sent to play in the AFL.

To expand on this, would make sense for me to be able to determine who from my team goes to the AZ Fall League and let the AI fill in the roster for rest of the teams' representatives. Seems that for now either I select an entire team's roster or I let the AI do it...an all or nothing thing.

My thinking was it would give the Human GM a bit more control on player development and add a bit more realism to the AFL. Just something as simple as being able to nominate a pool of 10 players and the AFL GM would get to select from that pool of players.

Example: Each AFL team has 5 MLB teams which feed it players so each of those MLB teams would be required to list say 1 Catcher, 1 Corner IF, 2 Middle IF, 2 OF, 4 Pitchers. Then the AFL team would slepext its roster of 30 players from the pool of players each affiliate provides.
