64-bit?
Performance improvements aside, Apple will start warning users of 32-bit apps starting in the next macOS update. Is there plans to move OOTP to 64-bit?

I agree that an eventual move to 64-bit is likely, but I don't see it being on the table for OOTP 19.

What stops it from being 64-bit in Windows.

Almost certainly, it's because of the need to support XP/Vista users, as those OSes had 32-bit builds.
Now that Vista is deprecated and almost everyone is running a 64-bit OS, it makes sense to move over to take advantage of the extra RAM. (As for Windows 7 onward, though I admit 32-bit Win7 existed, I doubt there are too many people still running it. Maybe the Steam version could stay 32-bit to accommodate those folks, on account of Steam itself being a 32-bit application.) |

Heck, even Steam's own metrics show that 32-bit Windows only accounted for 1.86% of their users in January.

It's time we get a choice to run OOTP in Windows in 64 bit. I have 16 GB of ram and would love for that to be allocated via OOTP.

But now that we know Steam can track whether the user is 32-bit, wouldn't that mean that Steam can just deliver the 32-bit version of OOTP to any 32-bit users? |
