1986 Red Sox
After years of playing Out of the Park Baseball I think I have found my favorite ways of playing the game. When it comes to history I like to do season replays with no rating change (development over the season) real transactions but I add injuries (low) to give it some randomness. I have played historical dynasties before but I lose interest when someone you expect to be great doesn't turn out great. I prefer now to play dynasties with fictional players. That is ton of fun.
I love the history of baseball and I have found this way of playing historical seasons in Out of the Park Baseball is my favorite way. I am currently doing two of these. One is the 1939 Red Sox and then there is this one the 1986 Red Sox. I have the detailed box scores on my blog but I wanted to use these forums to post the progress of each historical season and the cool things that will happen. I hope you enjoy it. Feedback is always appreciated. |

Opening Day: April 7, 1986 Red Sox at Tigers
Roger Clemens got the ball on Opening Day. In real life, Clemens wasn't THE Roger Clemens yet when April 7th rolled around. He is clearly the best pitcher on the staff in 1986. He matched up with Jack Morris and it was a good one as the Red Sox won 2-1.
