The Montreal Canadiens (11-9-0) are back in TD Gardens to face the Boston Bruins (13-6-1). Montreal is playing in Boston for the 3rd time this and have split those two games.


Montreal go up 1-0 at 3:54 when C James Courcy gets his 1st of the year. Courcy tipped LW Robert Cull's shot from the slot. Boston gets back to 1-1 with LW Sherman Dollard's 5th of the season. Dollard tipped a shot from in close past G Bill Wolfenbarger. Montreal grabs a 2-1 lead at 8:46 with C Patrick Atkins 12th of the year. Atkins deflected RD Steven Thornton's point shot from inside the right circle for the goal. Boston again ties it on the PP with C Ronald Sutton's 6th goal of the season at 18:02 to make it 2-2. Sutton pounced on a rebound and scored from down low on the right side. Montreal gets that one back late in the period as C Jeff Pilbeam gets his 5th of the year at 19:47. Pilbeam scored from in tight after getting a pass from RW Petr Klusacek. The period ends with Montreal up 3-2 on the scoreboard and up 14-13 on the shot clock.


After 5 goals in the first period, there is no scoring in the 2nd. The shots after two periods are tied 21-21.


Montreal extends the lead to 4-2 at 0:33 when LW Eric Brenner gets his 6th of the year. Brenner deflected C Patrick Atkins shot from in close. Boston makes it 4-3 at 6:46 when C Michael Bishop gets his 8th of the season. Bishop got his own rebound from the slot and buried it. Boston ties it 4-4 at 18:58 with RW Ben Carter's 4th of the year. Carter won a battle in front of the net and scored from the slot. Montreal gets the lead at again and make it 5-4 on C Jeff Pilbeam's 6th goal at 19:33. Pilbeam is sent in on a break away by LW Randolph Lott and goes top shelf on the Bruins goalie. Montreal hangs on for the win despite getting out shot 30-28.


Montreal had a couple of milestones. C Jeff Pilbeam now has 300 career NHL games. RD Steven Thornton now has 150 career NHL points.


Montreal 5 Boston 4


Montreal C Patrick Atkins was the 1st star with his goal and an assist. The 21 year old now has 12 goals and 23 points with 20 PIMs and a +10 rating in 21 games. Atkins had 23 goals in his rookie season last year in 70 games.


Buffalo Sabres RW Craig Tollison had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win over the Devils. The 30 year old now has 8 goals and 14 points with 6 PIMs and a -4 rating in 18 games. Tollison had a career high with 35 goals in the 65 games he played with the Sabres in 2002-03.


Edmonton Oilers C Kale Bannock had 3 assists in a 4-3 win over the Jets. The 32 year old now has 5 goals and 14 points with 22 PIMs and a +0 rating in 18 games. Bannock had a career high 22 goals in 72 games in 2000-01 with the Oilers.


St Louis Blues RD Brett Pysyk had 2 assists in a 2-1 win over the Canucks. The 31 year old now has 1 goal and 4 points with 6 PIMs and a -14 rating in 21 games. Pysyk had a career high 15 goals in 72 games during the 2002-03 season with the Blues.

The Boston Bruins (13-7-1) make a return trip to the Bell Center and the Montreal Canadiens (12-9-0). Montreal has won 2 of 3 so far this season with all 3 games in Boston.


Montreal goes up 1-0 at 11:09 of the 1st on RD Anthony Reynold's 1st goal of the year. Reynolds took a shot from right point after getting a pass from RW Joey Mariani. The period ends with the shots 11-9 for Boston.


Boston ties it 1-1 at 1:21 of the 2nd period as RW Brandon McNicoll gets his 2nd of the year. McNicoll beats G Martin King on a break away with a back hand shot. Montreal's LD Vicent Lavoie gets into a fight at 19:13 with the shots 21-14 for Montreal. It will be interesting to see who gets the momentum. The period ends with the game tied 1-1 and the shots are now 22-14 for Montreal.


Montreal goes up 2-1 at 7:51 with RW Joey Mariani's 2nd goal of the season. Mariani tips in C Dean Casey's shot while in tight to the goal. The Bruins tie the game 2-2 while on the PP. C Ronald Sutton gets his 7th of the year from a shot inside the slot. This time there is no late second magic and the games ends in a tie. The shots were 30-21 for Montreal.


Montreal RW Joey Mariani collected his 100th career assist in the game.


Montreal 2 Boston 2


Montreal RW Joey Mariani had a goal and an assist and was named the 1st star. The 22 year old now has 2 goals and 7 points with 6 PIMs and a +0 rating. Mariani had a career high 21 goals in 72 games last year for Montreal.


New York Rangers C Ben Williamson will miss up to 4 months with a torn calf muscle. The 33 year old now has 10 goals and 22 points with 8 PIMs and a +5 rating in 16 games. Last year Williamson had 32 goals and 56 points in 72 games for the Predators.

The Montreal Canadiens (12-9-1) travel to the Prudential Center to play the New Jersey Devils (9-11-1) Montreal lost 2 games to open the season this year, 3-0 and 1-0 in the only 2 times these teams have met this year.


The New Jersey Devils open the scoring at 14:59 of the 1st period as LW Cade Powell gets his 5th of the season. Powell's wrister from down low on the left side beats G Bill Wolfenbarger. Montreal ties it 1-1 at 19:09 with C Patrick Atkins 13 goals of the year. Atkins snap shot off the feed from LW Eric Brenner from in tight beats the Devils goalie. The period ends tied 1-1 and the shots are 7-6 for the Devils.


The Devils go up 2-1 at 8:07 with RD Eric Moser's 3rd goal of the year. Moser, a defenseman gets the rare defenseman breakway and he roofs it. New Jersey goes up 3-1 at 13:53 as LD Michael Rigo wrists one in from the high slot. The period ends with the Devils in full control, the shots are now 20-11 for the Devils.


New Jersey extends the lead to 4-1 at 1:49 with LW Cade Powell's 2nd of the game and 6th of the year. Powell's tip from the slot beats Wolfenbarger. The Devils are now up 5-1 at 5:19 with a goal from RW Kamil Nemackay. Nemackay's tip from the in tight is his 2nd of the year. The Devils add another at 19:26 when RW Magnus Sundstrom snaps his 4th of the year from the left face off circle. The game ends with the shots 33-16 for the Devils.


New Jersey 6 Montreal 1


New Jersey RW Magnus Sundstrom was the 1st star with his 1 goal and 3 assists. The 32 year old now has 4 goals and 17 points with 12 PIMs and a +7 rating. Last year Sundstrom had 22 goals and 46 points in 71 games with the Devils.

The Detroit Red Wings (12-6-3) pay a visit to the Bell Center and the Montreal Canadiens (12-10-1). Detroit has won both meeting this season in Detroit.


Montreal grabs the 1-0 lead at 12:42 as C Patrick Atkins gets his 14th of the year. Atkins snaps a rebound in from in tight after RD Steven Thornton's point shot was thwarted. The period ends with the Red Wings leading on the shot clock, 10-7.


Detroit ties it up 1-1 at 2:22 with LD Colin McMutrie's 4th of the season. McMutrie beats G Martin King from in the slot. Seconds later, LD McMutrie strikes again with his 5th of the year at 2:46. McMutrie snaps one home from down low on the left side. Detroit continues the onslaught, this time its LW Paul Brown that makes it 3-1 at 7:00 of the 2nd. Brown's shot from the slot beats King. The 2nd period ends with the shots 18-16 in favour of the Red Wings.


Montreal could not get anything really going in the 3rd as the shots finish 28-25 for Detroit.

Detroit LD Connor McMutrie had 2 goals and was selected as the first star. The 39 year old now has 5 goals and 11 points with 6 PIMs and a +0 rating in 22 games. Last year McMutrie had 4 goals and 30 points in 69 games for the Reds Wings.

The struggling Montreal Canadiens (12-11-1) who are just 2-4-1 in their last 7 go to Little Caesars Place to face the Detroit Red Wings (13-6-3) who are 5-2-0 in their last 7. Detroit has won all 3 meetings this year between the teams.


Montreal gets the opening goal after a flurry of shots at the Detroit net, C Patrick Atkins makes it 1-0 with his 15th of the year at 2:14 of the 1st. Atkins deflected LD Dominick Heatherington's point shot from in tight on the goal. Montreal goes up 2-0 at 14:54 as RD Rinat Sadriyev gets his 3rd of the year. Sadriyev's shot from down low on the right side beats the Red Wing goalie after a pass from RW Zach Broderick. The Canadiens out shoot the Red Wings 15-9 in the 1st period.


The Detroit push back in the 2nd period and make it 2-1 at 8:32 when LD Mike Whaley's deflection beats G Bill Wolfenbarger for his 3rd goal of the year. The period ends with the shots now 24-17 for Montreal. The Habs will start the 3rd period with a 1:45 PP.


The Red Wings tie the score 2-2 while on a PP at 3:25 of the 3rd. RW Josef Hanak's shot from near the right face off dot goes in for his 7th of the year. A few minutes later, Detroit now on a 5 on 3 PP when RW Ken Patterson's shot from the left points eludes Wolfenbarger at 7:16 for his 6th of the year and a 3-2 Detroit lead. The Red Wings get a 3rd PP goal of the night at 10:50 when LW Chad Deraspe gets his 13th on a deflection from in tight. Its now 4-2 Detroit. Detroit holds off Montreal in the 3rd as the final shots are 40-26 for Montreal.

The New York Islanders (7-14-2) come to the Bell Center to face the struggling Montreal Canadiens (12-12-1) Montreal won the only meeting this season 3-2. Montreal will have all 3 of the call ups in the line-up.


The struggling Canadiens struggle's continue. The Islanders open up the scoring on a break away at 0:29 as LW Ron Oxford gets his 9th of the year past G Martin King. The Islanders go up 2-0 on the PP as C Aleksandr Enukidze gets his 7th of the year from in tight. The period ends with the Islanders leading the shots on goal 11-9.


The Islanders extend the lead to 3-0 at 10:20 of the 2nd as C Aleksandr Enukidze gets his 2nd of the night on a shot from the right point. The period ends with the shots 19-17 for the Islanders.


The Canadiens have RD Steven Thornton limp off the ice with an leg injury just 4 minutes into the 3rd period. Montreal are getting badly out played and the Islanders put them out of their mercy with a 4-0 goal at 18:21 of the 3rd, C WIlliam Roos with his 4th of the year on a tip in from in close. The Washington Capitals (14-10-1) come to the Bell Center to play the Montreal Canadiens (12-13-1). Washington beat Montreal in their 1st meeting this season 4-2 in Washington. Montreal will be without their top defenseman in Steven Thornton and top scoring forward Patrick Atkins.


Montreal takes just 0:24 to take a 1-0 as C Dean Casey gets his 7th of the year. Casey deflects LD Dominick Heatherington's point shot from inside the slot while RD Colton Knoll gets his 1st career NHL point. Washington takes the steam out of the Habs start scoring on their 1st shot. C Jason Moser goes backhand on a breakaway at 9:56 beating G Bill Wolfenbarger. Montreal gets that lead back and make it 2-1 at 13:14 on RW Zach Broderick's 2nd goal of the year. C Jeff Pilbeam's shot hits Broderick in the slot for the goal. The 1st period ends with Montreal outshooting the Capitals 10-4.


The Capitals tie the score 2-2 at 4:26 when C Jason Moser capitalizes on his own rebound for his 2nd of the night, 11th of the year. The 2nd periods ends with the shots 16-9 for Montreal.


Washington goes up 3-2 on the PP as C Gavril Karlin tips a shot in from the slot for his 11th goal of the season at 4:36. Montreal loses another player to injury as LW Eric Brenner leaves that game at 7 minutes into the 3rd period. Montreal rookie RD Colton Knoll is trying to make his presence known as he gets into a fight with just over 8 minutes left in the game. We will see if it inspires Montreal who are now outshooting Washington 25-14. Time runs out on Montreal even though they outshoot Washington 33-17 in the game.


Washington Capitals C Gavril Karlin reached 250 career points in the NHL during the game.

Washington C Jason Moser had 2 goals in the win and was the 1st star. The 22 year old now has 11 goals and 19 points with 8 PIMs and a +9 rating in 26 games. Moser was the Capitals 8th overall pick in the 2001 NHL draft.


Montreal Canadiens have announced that LW Eric Brenner will be day to day with groin tightness. The 21 year old now has 6 goals and 11 points with 10 PIMs and a +1 rating in 27 games. Montreal signed Brenner as a undrafted free agent in July 2003.


The New Jersey Devils have traded C Todd Carlson and a 7th round pick for RW Dennis Lynch and RD Christian Carner. The 37 year old Carlson has 11 goals and 20 points with 12 PIMs and a -12 rating in 26 games.

The Montreal Canadiens (12-14-1) start a 5 game West Coast trip with a stop at the Rogers Arena and the Vancouver Canucks (10-14-2) The two teams are meeting for the 1st time this year.


Montreal opens the scoring at 7:56 with LW Eric Brenner's 7th goal of the season. Brenner's slap shot from a bad angle down low on the left side is as a result of LD Vincent Lavoie's feed. The 1st period ends with the score 1-0 Montreal and the shots tied 6-6.


Montreal goes up 2-0 at 1:49 of the 2nd period with RD Anthony Reynolds 2nd goal of the year. Reynolds pounced on his own rebound in the slot after C Jeff Pilbeam won a face off after an icing call. Montreal grabs a 3-0 lead at 12:19 of the period with C Dean Casey's 8th goal of the year. Casey scores on his own rebound from the right face off dot with assists to Emile Boudreau and Colton Knoll. Montreal extends the lead on the PP to 4-0 when C Dean Casey notches his 9th of the season at 19:31. Casey scored on his own rebound from the left face off dot with assists going to Boudreau and Broderick. The period ends with the shots 24-10 for Montreal.


The Canucks spoil G Bill Wolfenbarger's shut out bid while on a 5 on 3 PP. C Pavel Radzkow gets his 7th of the year on a shot from the slot at 16:59 of the 3rd to make it 4-1. Montreal holds on for the win while out shooting the Canucks 28-25.

The Montreal Canadiens (13-14-1) continue to collect air miles as they travel to Rogers Place and a date with the Edmonton Oilers (7-16-4) The two teams are playing for the first time this year.


Montreal goes up 1-0 at 3:17 of the 1st period on LW Randolph Lott's 3rd goal of the season. Lott was sent in on a breakaway by RD Colton Knoll. Courcy got the 2nd assist. Montreal LW Robert Cull got into a fight at about 12 minutes into the period. Montreal had the momentum at the time. The period ends with the shots 14-4 for the Canadiens.


There was no scoring in the 2nd period, Montreal now leads the shot totals 19-5.


Montreal go up 2-0 at 4:35 of the 3rd period with RD Rinat Sadriyev's 4th goal of the year. Sadriyev's blast from the right point is assisted by Lavoie and Courcy. Edmonton will make it interesting at 13:23 of the 3rd period with LW Michael Walter's shot from the slot beating G Martin King with his 2nd of the year. Its now 2-1 for Montreal. The Oilers complete the comeback with the 2-2 goal at 15:19, again it is LW Michael Walters with the tipped shot in front of the net for his 3rd of the season. That's how the game finished with Montreal outshooting the Oilers 24-15.

Edmonton LW Michael Walters was the 1st star with his 2 goals. The 22 year old now has 3 goals and 8 points with 27 PIMs and a -4 rating in 27 games with the Oilers and Senators this year. Last year in his rookie season, Walters had 18 points in 72 games for the Senators.

The Montreal Canadiens (13-14-2) now make a stop at the T-Mobile Arena and face the Vegas Golden Knights (12-7-8) The teams are meeting for the 1st time this year.


Vegas opens the scoring on the PP at 9:22 with C Richard Peters 11th goal of the year. Peters beats G Bill Wolfenbarger from point blank range in front of the net. Montreal responds on the PP themselves and tie it 1-1 at 17:50 with C Dean Casey's 10th of the season. Casey got hit with LW Emile Boudreau's shot while screening the goalie, with Broderick getting the 2nd assist. The period ends with Montreal leading the shots on goal 11-6.


With momentum in Montreal's favor, C James Courcy gets his 2nd of the year at 10:44. Courcy knocks in a rebound from in front of the net, Nytra got the only assist on the 2-1 Montreal goal. The 2nd period ends with the shots 30-8 for Montreal as they show no fatigue in their 3rd game in 3 nights.


There is no scoring in the 3rd period as Montreal shut down the Golden Knights effectively. The final shots were 39-16 for the Canadiens.

Montreal C James Courcy was the 1st star with his goal. The 21 year old now has 2 goals and 7 points with 11 PIMs and a -2 rating in 30 games. Courcy had a career high 16 points in 47 games for Montreal during the 2001-02 season.

The Montreal Canadiens (14-14-2) continue on their Western swing into the MTS Center and the Winnipeg Jets (14-11-5). The teams are meeting for the first time this year.


Montreal take the 1-0 lead at 5:48 with RW Zach Broderick's 3rd goal of the season. Broderick deflects LD Vincent Lavoie's shot while in front of the net for the goal, Pilbeam collected the 2nd assist. The 1st period ends with the shots tied 7-7.


Winnipeg ties the score 1-1 at 1:27 when RD Christian Childs deflects a shot past G Bill Wolfenbarger from in tight for his 2nd of the year. Winnipeg goes up 2-1 at 10:21 with C Luke Barr's 10th of the season on a goal from a sharp angle. Montreal gets it back and ties it up 2-2 at 10:31 with C Jeff Pilbeam's 7th goal of the year. Pilbeam deflects RD Colton Knoll's point shot while also screening the goalie. The 2nd period ends with the shots 14-14.


Montreal goes up 3-2 at 2:27 of the 3rd period with LW Emile Boudreau's 6th goal of the year. Boudreau gets hit by C Dean Casey's shot will trying to raise havoc in front of the Winnipeg net. Lavoie picked up the 2nd helper. Montreal extends the lead to 4-2 with RW Petr Klusacek's 5th goal of the season. Klusacek tips LW Randolph Lott's shot from the high slot while being near the crease, Courcy picked up the 2nd assist. Montreal make it 5-2 at 14:35 with LW Eric Brenner's 8th of the year. Brenner's shot from the slot is assisted by Reynolds and Nytra. Montreal go on to win with the shots 23-20 for Montreal.


Montreal 5 Winnipeg 2


Montreal LD Vincent Lavoie had 2 assists and was the 1st star. The 21 year old now has 1 goal and 11 points with 13 PIMs and a +5 rating in 31 games. Lavoie had a career high 23 points in 72 games for the Canadiens in the 2002-03 season.

The Montreal Canadiens (15-14-2) finish their Western swing at the Scotiabank Saddledome and the Calgary Flames (15-7-7) The Flames and Habs meet for the 1st time this year.


Montreal opens up the scoring and the 1-0 lead at 1:57 with LW Emile Boudreau's 7th goal of the year. Boudreau tipped RD Colton Knoll's shot while in front of the net, Mariani picked up the 2nd assist. The Flames tie it up late in the period at 19:15 with former Habs LW David Wass collecting his 1st goal of the year. Wass beat G Martin King with a wrist shot from the slot. The period ends with the shots 15-10 for Montreal.


The Flames get another late period goal, this time at 19:46 with RW Ed Porters 5th goal on a break away for the 2-1 lead. The shots after the 2nd period are now 22-21 for the Flames.


Montreal ties the score 2-2 at 4:08 of the 3rd period with LD Richard Nytra's 3rd of the year. Nytra beats the Flames goalie with a shot from the slot, Klusacek gets and assist. Montreal did not give up a late goal this period and leave with a tie. The shots were 28-25 for the Flames. Montreal RW Joey Mariani gets his 150th career NHL point tonight.


Montreal 2 Calgary 2


Calgary RW Ed Porter had a goal and an assist as the 1st star. The 21 year old now has 5 goals and 9 points with 6 PIMs and a +7 rating in 30 games. Porter had 16 points in both his 1st two seasons in the NHL. He played 57 games with Detroit in 2002-03 and 61 games with the Red Wings in 2003-04.


Ottawa Senators Candrakrti Ackerl made 34 stops in a 2-0 win over the Red Wings. The 29 year old now has 9 wins with 10 losses, 3 SO's, a 2.35 GAA and a .911 Sv% in 23 games. Ackerl had a career high 24 wins in 55 games for the 2002-03 Senators.

The Ottawa Senators (13-13-4) will be at the Bell Center for a match up with the Montreal Canadiens (15-14-3) Montreal won the only meeting this year 6-0.


It took just 22 seconds but Ottawa got a 1-0 lead on RD Paul Nelson's 4th of the year. Nelson's shot from the slot eluded G Bill Wolfenbarger on the 1st shot on goal in the game. Montreal ties the score 1-1 on the PP as LW Emile Boudreau gets his 8th of the season at 6:50. Boudreau's blistering shot from down low on a bad angle is assisted by C Dean Casey. The Senators go up 2-1 on a PP, C Kimmo Pulkkinen gets his 6th of the year. Pulkkinen's rebound from in tight beats the Habs goalie. The 1st period ends with the shots 11-7 for Ottawa.


Ottawa gets the 3-1 goal at 9:38 with C David Boucher's 4th of the season. Boucher converts on a rebound from point blank range. The Sens are now up 4-1 at 18:24 with LW Winslow Fitzstephens 7th goal of the year. Fitzstephens slams home a rebound from a bad angle to beat G Wolfenbarger. The period ends with the shots 22-18.


Montreal try's to get back in the game and makes it 4-2 at 7:25 with LW Emile Boudreau's 9th goal of the year. Boudreau deflected RW Joey Mariani's shot, C Dean Casey also got an assist. Montreal makes it interesting with LD Dominick Heatherington's 1st goal of the year at 11:12 to make it 4-3. Heatherington's blast from the high slot is assisted by LW Emile Boudreau and RW Joey Mariani. Montreal completes the comeback and ties the score 4-4 at 12:14 with LW Eric Brenner's 9th goal of the year. Brenner's shot from the slot is assisted by C Jeff Pilbeam and RW Zach Broderick. That's it for scoring and the game ends in a tie with the shots in the end 28-27 for Montreal.


Montreal 4 Ottawa 4


Montreal LW Emile Boudreau had 2 goals and an assist and was the 1st star. The 22 year old now has 9 goals and 25 points with 18 PIMs and a +2 rating in 31 games. Boudreau had a career high 31 goals in 70 games last year for Montreal.

The New York Rangers (17-8-4) are in town to meet the Montreal Canadiens (15-14-4) at the Bell Center. The Rangers beat Montreal 2-1 in the only meeting this season.


The Rangers get the 1-0 goal at 15:16 of the 1st period with RW Daniel Shulhan's 9th goal of the year. Shulhan's shot from the slot beats G Bill Wolfenbarger. The 1st period ends with the shot 8-6 for Montreal.


The Rangers took over in the 2nd period and only the play of G Wolfenbarger kept the score 1-0 as the Rangers out shot Montreal 9-3 in the period.


Montreal had a better 3rd period and the shots ended 23-23, but the score remained 1-0 for the Rangers.


Rangers 1 Montreal 0


New York Rangers RW Daniel Shulhan had the only goal and was the 1st star. The 38 year old now has 9 goals and 16 points with 16 PIMs and a +7 rating in 30 games. Last year Shulhan had 10 goals and 24 points in 70 games with the Flames and Maple Leafs.

The Ottawa Senators (14-13-5) are back for another visit to the Bell Center and the Montreal Canadiens (15-15-4) The Canadiens have beat and tied the Senators in the 2 matchups so far.


Montreal goes up 1-0 at 2:16 with LW Emile Boudreau's 10th goal of the season. Boudreau's shot from the slot beats the Sens goalie, with assists to C Dean Casey and RW Petr Klusacek. The Sens tie the score 1-1 at 13:43 with LD Olavi Heimonen's 4th goal of the year. Heimonen beats G Bill Wolfenbarger from just inside the blue line with the Sens circling the net. The period ends with the shot 10-8 for Ottawa.


Montreal grabs the 2-1 lead at 8:55 of the 2nd period with C Dean Casey getting his 11th of the season. Casey's shot from the slot is assisted by RD Steven Thornton and LW Robert Cull. The period ends with the shots 20-14 for the Senators.


Early in the 3rd period, RD Steven Thornton left the game with a stinger. About 7 minutes into the 3rd period LW Robert Cull got into a fight, the shots were 21-20 at the time, we will see if there is a momentum swing. The Sens tie the score 2-2 at 14:02 of the 3rd period with C David Boucher's 5th goal of the year. Boucher beat G Wolfenbarger from in tight. The game ends 2-2 with the shots now in favour of Montreal 25-24.

Montreal C Dean Casey had a goal and an assist in being the 1st star. The 22 year old now has 11 goals and 22 points with 8 PIMs and a +5 rating in 35 games. Last year Casey had 14 goals and 54 points in 72 games for Montreal.


Montreal RD Steven Thornton will be day to day with a stinger. He will not likely dress in tommorrow's game. The Canadiens have promoted LD Berislav Salov just in case. The 22 year old has 3 goals and 18 points with 14 PIMs and a +9 rating in 24 AHL games. Salov is considered a defensive defenseman.

The Dallas Stars (16-14-3) pay a visit to the Bell Center with a date with the Montreal Canadiens (15-15-5). The teams have not met yet this year.


Montreal opens the scoring at 11:40 of the 1st period with LW Robert Cull's 4th goal of the year. Cull tipped RW Joey Mariani's shot from in tight. RD Colton Knoll got the 2nd assist. The period ends with the shots 8-5 for Montreal.


Montreal goes up 2-0 at 1:32 of the 2nd with LW Eric Brenner's 10th of the year. Brenner's wrist shot from a bad angle is assisted by RD Colton Knoll and RW Zach Broderick. Montreal extends the lead to 3-0 at 5:35 with LW Emile Boudreau's 11th of the season. Boudreau's shot from the left point is assisted by RD Vincent Lavoie and RW Joey Mariani. Montreal is now up 4-0 at 8:23 of the 2nd period with RD Colton Knoll's 1st career NHL goal. Knoll's shot from a bad angle down low beats the Stars goalie. LW Eric Brenner and RW Zach Broderick get the assists. The period ends with the shots 20-13 for Montreal.


Montreal does give up some shots in the 3rd but G Bill Wolfenbarger holds on for the shut out with the Canadiens outshooting the Stars 30-25.

Montreal RD Colton Knoll had a goal and 2 assists and was the 1st star. The 22 year old now has 1 goal and 8 points with 5 PIMs and a +3 rating in 11 games. Last year Knoll had 8 goals and 36 points in 63 AHL games.

The Montreal Canadiens (16-15-5) will go on the road for one, to Madison Square Gardens and the New York Rangers (18-8-6) The Rangers have beaten Montreal both times they have met this year.


Montreal gets the ice breaker at 7:09 of the 1st with LW Eric Brenner's 11th of the year. Brenner's shot from a sharp angle on the left side of the face off circle beats G Cadilek, LD Dominick Heatherington and RW Zach Broderick get assists. It was a good period for Montreal, outshooting the Rangers 15-8.


Montreal get one quick in the 2nd period to take a 2-0 lead at 0:24. LW Eric Brenner gets his 2nd of the night and 12th of the season on a snap shot from almost the identical spot he scored his 1st goal tonight. C Jeff Pilbeam got the only assist. Montreal LD Colton Knoll gets his 2nd goal in as many nights. Knoll gives Montreal a 3-0 lead at 11:06 of the 2nd period with his shot from a bad angle near the right face off dot. LW Emile Boudreau gets the only assist on Knoll's 2nd goal of the year. Another good period for the Canadiens, they are now out shooting the Rangers 32-14.


Montreal puts the final dagger into the Rangers on the PP late in the 3rd period, LW Emile Boudreau gets his 12th of the season at 18:56. Boudreau deflected C Dean Casey's shot for the goal, RD Colton Knoll got the 2nd assist. The game ends with Montreal outshooting the Rangers 38-15 and the Habs win back to back 4-0 games. G Martin King gets the 15 save shut out.


Montreal C Dean Casey hit a milestone tonight with his 100th point of his career. Casey now has 34 goals and 100 points in 158 NHL games.


Montreal 4 Rangers 0


Montreal LW Eric Brenner had 2 goals and was the 1st star. The 21 year old now has 12 goals and 18 points with 10 PIMs and a +6 rating in 37 games. Brenner for his career has 19 goals and 28 points in 70 NHL games.


Washington Capitals C Jude Jordan had 2 assists in a 3-3 tie with the Blues. The 23 year old now has 15 goals and 33 points with 22 PIMs and a +2 rating in 35 games. For his career, Jordan has 59 goals and 145 points in 251 NHL games.
