Playing with 2D backgrounds in 3d models. Please let me know thoughts or ideas - Page 2

Appreciate the feedback. There are lots of things I would do to make each park more accurate/lifelike, but I'm sure you understand that this 3D thing is in its infancy still and the time it takes to get the parks how they are now is bordering on what I should be reasonably be spending.

I hear ya....quick question: is there anyway to get rid of the player tags appearing "in game" in 3D mode....they are huge, and take up too much space...I'd just like to see the pawns with no player tags.

Here's the million dollar question though...

Would these 2D backgrounds automatically change for day and night games? (you would obviously need a different backgrounds)

This is a great start. I am wondering if you made the backgrounds transparent if you wouldn't have to worry about the time of day because the 3D background picutres would make them look, day, evening & night.

Yeah. I'm just going to hold off on these for now. Maybe the OOTP team will come up with a solution for day/night games. Right now, it would take different stadiums to have a day and night background. Not really feasible.

Silvam has been helping me with backgrounds. With his help here is my first attempt at a transparent background that will show the time of day. I have a sort of panoramic background scene set up but have yet to figure out how to add an panoramic picture all in one piece. It wants make a checker board out of those pictures. Finding pictures with transparent backgrounds is a challenge but I think I will be able to make some. Any way, this is a sample of how it will look. I used Silvam League park for this test. I need to do more a lot work on these backgrounds

Dude, Silvam.. Keep going! Push that envelope. You don't think the guys at OOTP are paying attention? Trust me, little things like this that you do find their way into the game. Believe me.

You've already broke the seal on the 3D ballparks. Lots of people are building them now... Eventually they will be as common as user made jerseys thanks to you.

I just don't think backgrounds are going to be my thing. Hoping someone can pick up this baton and run with it. I fool with it a little more, but I want to just keep building
