NHL free agent signings bug (0.9.56)
Pittsburgh has signed 31 players from free agency, all at league minimum for one year, while Tampa Bay has signed a mere 13 players from free agency for league minimum at one year. Some of these players declined better contract offers from me.
The majority of Pittsburgh's roster started in the AHL (e.g. Letang, Neal), and they failed to reorganize their players. Tampa Bay had the same issue. As for free agency, I am wondering what determines whether a player is active or not. There seems to be an issue with signing players to contracts that don't meet their exact demands. |

This trend is continuing in different save games: Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh start off with complete rosters before eventually burying most of their team in their AHL affiliate and signing a lot of players to $525,000, 1-year deals.
The contract max isn't being respected. At the moment in one of the games, Pittsburgh has 115 players signed. Last edited by Panda Bear; 08-07-2013 at 02:23 AM. |

I am also having the same thing happen to me. I've started a new league 3 times now and each time Pittsburgh always signs a crazy amount of players right off the bat.

It's an issue that has something to do with the cap-space not working correctly, teams can go 10% over the cap in the off-season but this game-script doesn't handle this 10% correctly + isn't smart enough to understand what players can be lost though Waivers and what players should never placed on waivers.
It will be fixed sooner or later. The real deal will come a little later when you need some script who makes teams really smart. Understanding what type of players they have right now and for how long are they signed. ..and what type of player they need to sign, draft or trade for towards the future based on the type of franchise they are. Games are often just simple logic in the beginning, there's a formula that needs to be reached before a trade passes Yes or No. But when games become more advanced the logic should turn into something like humans GM's need to have. Thats very difficult to program.
