Just an FYI to this league, it's a 90 game schedule, played basically starting in May and running through a schedule created by OOTP. I've played 53 games so far, and my 'long reliever' has pitched 51.1 innings and almost qualifies for the ERA title. Never made a start, has appeared in 27 of 53 games, almost all of them being subbed into the game before the 7th inning.

Was there ever anything come of this? I just bought 20 yesterday and i'm in the 2nd season of a sim with the Braves. The first season nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Guys were going 90-100+ with regularity. However this season, once a pitcher gets to 80-88 pitches, they get pulled. Every single starter. I've fired and gone through 3-4 different pitching coaches, so i dont think thats the issue. I am literally looking at the last 5 starts for all 5 of my starting pitchers, and every single one of them is like: 84, 83, 85, 87, 84. And its not like they're going full innings and getting pulled because their spot is due up. Most of them are like...5.2 or 6.1. I don't know why it would start in the 2nd season...

Its not just my team either. Degrom had a 3 hit shutout going through 6 innings and was pulled after throwing....you guessed it, 87 pitches. Not sure what the issue is...but theres definitely an issue.

I did a little more adjusting in strategy. It seems if you push the "hook starting pitchers" tab really far over towards "slow"....your pitchers are allowed more pitches...obviously. 2 starts after moving it about 3/4 of the way to full slow and i've had a 94 and 99 pitch game from my starters. The first problem with this, however, is that it may make the coaches leave guys in that need to be pulled. I'll have to keep an eye on that and see how it works.
It seems the problem however is that the rest of the league is running their hook at neutral or closer to quick...so starters across the league are only going 5, 6 innings max. Last edited by Wolfman21; 06-29-2019 at 11:59 PM. |
