A hope for the match engine

I really hope bts has an optional ability to let the user forward play by play. Much like ootp is an at bat by at bat engine. Not just for games you are calling plays but also games you are watching. American football is a play pause play game. Unlike hockey and basketball which are continuous games. DDFB does not get this which drives me away from this sim. I really hope someone gets this.

BTS will be turn-based, so you can take as much time as you like after each play.

Thank you. It is great to hear. I am fully on board. In other games you watch a game like it is a continuous action soccer match. There is nothing wrong with that for soccer it is the way you watch it. Just feels weird to me to watch a NFL game that way.

Will there be a play clock if you so choose?

Not in such a way that you have one ticking down in real time, but otherwise there will be a play clock of course. You will be able to choose a pace for your offense which will basically determine how much you use up the play clock. Other factors will play a role as well but this is still not final by any means.

Excited to hear this. Hopefully this means we can adopt certain styles like Chip Kelly or Gus Malzahn - getting a lot of snaps off to force the defense to keep its base defense on the field. Or go old-school like Jim Harbaugh and milk the play clock all game long.
