Questions about Expansion/Online League

I don't know where to post this, so I'll post it here. I have a very detailed plan for an online league, in which MLB expands to 32 teams (Charlotte/Portland) and goes back to 2 divisions--ALs West and East, and NLs West and East, with 2 wild cards. The league would start after OOTP 11 comes out.

The expansion teams would not join the league until 2011, and I have a VERY detailed expansion draft plan that eliminates most if not all of the inaccuracies that the game has when running expansion. I have done significant research into the past two expansion drafts and would base the expansion draft on that.

I have seen a few leagues that do expansion, and I have always found their plans quite flawed. This would not be a self-indulgent project designed for my entertainment only; as one of the two expansion teams, I would not even have a team to control during the first year.

ANYWAY, this all seems well and good, until you get to the part about me having little to no computer expertise and absolutely no idea about what goes into running an online league. I am a founding member of vMLB, so I have experience playing online and what I think are good ideas for the league.

And so I finally get to the point of my post:

Does anyone have any suggestions about whether this project is viable, and how I can make it more so? Things I need to know include but are not limited to: How much time does one spend running an online league, how much technical expertise does someone need, etc.

PS, if someone is willing to volunteer as co-commissioner, helping me with technical aspects, I'm all ears.

Thanks!

My friend has basically figured out a lot of the technical jargon; he and I are planning on co-commishing this league.

Just wanted to bump this and see if anyone has any experiences from a league that expanded and what went right/what went wrong. More interested in modern day expansions, not historical. Any tips, suggestions, do's and don'ts, please advise.

Check out this thread. There's some great stuff about expansion in there.
