Length of a season

I'm just wondering, in OOTP, it takes a while to complete a season (which is an awesome and realistic thing) because there are 162 games that all have to be simmed. Would the presence of only 16 games make the season and game go considerably quicker? One thing I like about OOTP is that you can play for a while to complete a season, you aren't just breezing through the game.

I would assume so, although the off-season may take longer with the draft and combine and such.
