Random Debut Help

I've searched through the forums and can't seem to find the answer.

I've been playing around with random debut leagues and usually start off in 1980. Don't change many settings. Things go well but after a few seasons I have waaay too many players with ratings of 9-10 (1-10 scale). To the point where it doesn't even excite me when I get a guy with ratings that high. What is the best way to cut down on the number of these players appearing in the draft and filling up the teams after a few years?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Expansion will dilute the talent pool, just like it has in real life.

I wouldn't worry too much about ratings. It's the stats that those ratings produce that are more worthy of your attention. If they line up with the season you're playing I wouldn't worry too much about it. If your league AVG/OBP/SLG, R/G, and ERA are fine, your individual stats should be fine too. You can find out about what your league stats should be year over year here and here.
