Never tried online
I have never tried an online league, but partially because I am extremely particular about what rules are used, and normally a league won't ever do what I want 100 percent of the time. I am thinking of joining one, but my criteria is so narrow it's going to be tough. For starters, I will only play in a MLB style universe, and won't take over any other team other than the Phillies. After that, no stars can be used, and a whole host of other conditions....so it doesn't really look good there.
This means I would need to be a commish, but there are a couple of issues with that. 1. I have no idea how to do it. 2. I have no idea how to do web design to create an engaging and immersive website for the league (which I feel is a must) any suggestions? |

2. I'm sure one of the members of your league will be able to offer this type of help. The commish doesn't have to do it all :-) |

You will not like my suggestion, but I'll offer it anyway.
Just join an established, well-run online league. A well-run MLB setup should not be too hard to find, the Phillies narrows your choices of course as the timing must be right. And no stars narrows things much more, not to mention what ever else is on your wish list. But the well-run part, stars or no stars, will make your first online experience so much better. And you can learn from within! Ask to help the Commissioner, contribute in the forums/Slack, study the dynamic of 30 different personalities trying to play online. Suggest one of your wish list rules, even starting with turning off the stars, and see what happens! Honestly, my 2c would be that would be better than trying to start your own league from scratch without any experience, especially if it is highly customized to your particular criteria IMHO. You may still end up playing solo...but online...if you can't find 29 others to share your unique vision and passion? Just DIVE IN! Last edited by Winnipeg59; 01-01-2017 at 09:28 AM. |
