2nd year pitcher, Luis Alvarez, continues to be bitten by the home run bug .... allowing 2 bombs to Toluca in game 3 of the LDS.

Enrique Lopez, part of the young starting rotation 3 years ago, spent the last 2 seasons in the bullpen. This year he returned to the rotation and had a very good year ... including his outstanding dealing in game 4 of the LDS, holding Toluca to 1 run over 6.2 IP, not allowing a home run or a walk.

Whitfield has underperformed for much of the season, and his decline along with his 46M price tag has been concerning, but he stepped up big in this series, including his go ahead HR in G5 that proved to the game, and series, winner.

I don't mind seeing LA upset St. Louis. St. Louis is a nightmare matchup due to the number of batters they have that can go deep. Getting through their lineup 3 or 4 times without allowing a HR is a challenge. Mesa was 4-2 against LA during the regular season.

Finishing the LDS in 5 games allows Mesa to bring back Vivier in Game 1 on full rest.

Game 1 of the LCS was an all-time classic. This game was all over the place, and real up and down roller coaster of a game.

Taub 0-8, 6 K, 7 LBO .... that's a bad day.

Can't really complain about the bullpen. They struggled all season, despite good ratings ... but in the postseason they have been outstanding ... except for game 4
