That defensive scoring. What is that, four defensemen averaging .5 points per game? And the forwards are no slouches, either. Once the reserve clause goes bye-bye, if they can pick up a star, that team is going to be invincible. Heck, it's already pretty close. And the game will still force them to head to Cleveland and fold... it makes you wish dynamic history were easier to code.

I remember Madden '06 had a relocation engine whereby teams could relocate if their home fans hated them enough, but that was EA with a huge staff and bigger budget. Also, to the best of my knowledge (which is admittedly very narrow), sports video games don't allow teams to fold. Football Manager allows sufficiently distressed teams to go into administration (I saw this happen to an AI team in one of my playthroughs), but no outright collapse.

I guess that's the question developers need to ask themselves for this type of thing. Historical accuracy through a replay, or some sort of replay realism. I don't know what the best option is. I know the 2nd one sounds like it would be more work!

1976 NHL Offseason News and Notes

Here are the results of the 4th Avco Cup.

Here are the skating leaders for the 75/76 season.

Here are the goalie leaders for the season.

Here are the leading playoff scorers.

Marcel Dionne wins his third straight Hart Trophy, and 4th overall. He’s just 24 years old! Mel Bridgman had 51 assists to win the rookie of the year. Rick MacLeish’s 15 playoff goals help win a Stanley Cup and gets him the Conn Smythe Award!

A Stanley Cup championship wasn’t enough to save the Seals. With attendance being an issue their whole existence, ownership announced the team will be relocating to Cleveland, and will be known as the Barons. They aren’t the only team to move. The Kansas City Scouts, after two bad seasons, and horrible attendance, will move to Denver, and play as the Colorado Rockies. Here are the new logo’s and uniforms for the upcoming season.

Philly trades their franchise leading scorer!

Jude Drouin, coming off 88 and 92 point seasons, is dealt to Buffalo right before the draft. Philly put together a fairly dangerous first line with Drouin centering Nick Libett and Helmut Balderis. Dealing Drouin leaves a huge hole at center for Philly. He’s still only 27. I don’t like this move for them. Buffalo sends the rights to WHA Calgary Cowboys defenceman Bob Murray. Murray has 130 points in three WHA seasons after being drafted 16th overall by the Sabres in 74. If I’m Buffalo, I do this trade every day of the week and twice on Sundays. They just added a #1 center for something they didn’t have!

Drouin heads to Buffalo

Philly trades another center!

Right after the Drouin trade, the Flyers traded their new # 1 center, Rich LeDuc to Montreal. LeDuc was a reasonable guy to play on the top line. He had 60 points last year on line 2, along with over 200 PIM’s! He’s a tough guy with a scorers touch. He goes to the Habs for 31 year old Dennis Hull, whose on the downside of his career. Hull is a 3rd line, 40 point player, and while he’s good there, this is another bad deal for the Flyers. They now have nothing at center.

Montreal bound!

Atlanta strikes gold, netting Bryan Trottier with the top pick in the draft. Trottier is a franchise player. His presence alone will make the Flames better! (Can’t get worse). The steal of the draft goes to the New York Rangers! With the final selection, they take Czech forward Peter Stastny! If they can somehow convince Stastny to come over, then that’s a franchise changing move!

Trottier was also drafted 1st overall by the WHA Cincinnati Stingers. The Atlanta Flames offered Bryan a 2 year deal worth 280,000! He signed it and joined the NHL!

Jean Beliveau and Glenn Hall, both primarily from the Chicago Blackhawks have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Man, Chicago has had so many great players, and yet, so little success. Regardless, these two are both deserving members of the Hall!

The first random newcomer to the NHL this year is Russian winger Viktor Khatulev. The newest Detroit Red Wing isn’t someone who I expect to make much of a impact. He’s 21, and was selected 84th in the 1974 draft. He’s just a 1.5 potential player, but that’s the best player Detroit had available. He’s a 5th liner on the Red Wings depth chart.

Khatulev will try to make the Red Wings this year.

The 2nd random iron curtain addition was supposed to come from team 11, the New York Islanders, but they have no one eligible. Team 5 comes up next, the defending champs, Cleveland! They do not have anyone eligible either. Third time a charm? Number 12 comes up…the New York Rangers!! Peter Stastny!! Enough said!

Stastny is a Ranger!

Over in the WHA, the Denver Spurs and the Minnesota Fighting Saints have folded. The Toronto Toros have moved to Birmingham to become the Bulls, and the Cleveland Crusaders have relocated Minneapolis, even though the city just folded. They will now be known as the…well…Fighting Saints… Not hard to see why this League isn’t still around!!

1976-77 NHL Season Preview

Player Spotlight

The New York Rangers took a gamble selecting Peter Stastny with the final pick in this years draft. They got really lucky, being the 4th random team selected for me to edit an iron curtain player onto their team(I pick 2 random team, 2 of the teams i picked didn't have a player eligible.) Stastny didn't actually come over to the NHL for a few more years in real life, so he has a head start here.

The LA Kings have done a nice job at building up their team. They should be challenging for a cup as early as this year. Their top line is fairly dynamic. Guy Lafleur, and Robbie Ftorek play with this guy. Butch Goring is a do everything type of player. He can score, he can defend, he's smart, he's strong, he's tough, and he's a leader. He's probably the best all around player in the NHL today. I don't see any actual weakness in his game. He's coming off an 118 point season too!!

1976-77 NHL Regular Season

The NHL has gotten to be a bit of a rough place. I forgot to show this stat last year, but lets lead off the season with it. Last season, Terry O’Reilly led the NHL with a record 432 penalty minutes! That’s over 5 mins a game! Infact, 4 of the 5 most penalized players came from the 75/76 season. The highest PIM’s not occurring in the 70s belongs to Fred Glover, who spent 236 minutes in the box during the 53/54 season. That’s now the 50th highest total! Here is a list of the top 5 PIM seasons of all time!

Here is an example in the difference in talent between the NHL and the WHA. Billy Harris just finished a four year stint with the Minnesota Fighting Saints, who just folded. He had 294 points in 308 games over that span, which is a pretty nice stretch. He’s coming off a career high 83 points. He signed on with the Buffalo Sabres, the team that owned his rights after picking him 19th four years ago. Harris, probably the best player on the Fighting Saints, will start the season with the AHL’s Hersey Bears, and on their second line. He’s not even close to the NHL team!! Franchise player to after thought prospect!

WHA to AHL

Blockbuster trade early in the season

Off to a 17-3 start in Cleveland, the champs, shake things up, sending 4 star defenseman, Ron Stackhouse, to the St. Louis Blues. Stackhouse, whose 27, is coming off a fantastic 72 point season. With him, Potvin and Salming, the defense for the Barons was probably best in the league. I’m surprised they would deal any of them. Cleveland gets back former Sabre star Ron Schock. Shock ended up playing 98 games in St. Louis, scoring 26 goals, and dishing out 52 assists. That’s 78 points, which is pretty solid, but man, dealing an in his prime defenseman who just helped you win a cup, putting up a monster season, for a 33 year old center, probably on the decline!! Great deal for the Blues!

Stackhouse heads to St. Louis.

Last year it was the Atlanta Flames who were just horrible, and it got them Bryan Trottier, who is already making a difference. This season, the Washington Capitals have started the season 2-30-4! That is awful, obviously! Washington’s 2nd overall selection in this years draft, Randy Carlyle, signed with the Phoenix Roadrunners of the WHA. He would be the Caps top defenseman. I think Washington’s roster is probably worse then the Flames last year. They have Denis Maruk, and that’s it in terms of impact players or potential. Here’s a look at the train wreck!

Toronto’s veteran defenseman, Bill White just got his 500th career assist! The 37 year old is the 24th player in NHL history to hit that mark, and the 2nd defenseman. He trails Pierre Pilote by just 7 assists now, so by the end of the season, he should hold the mark. White has become a Hall of Famer with his play since joining Toronto a decade ago. Whether the assist mark is held by White or Pilote going forward, it’s only a matter of time until Bobby Orr takes it. Orr is currently at 480 career assists, and 14 months from the age of 30!

500 assists for Bill White!

Another milestone has been reached. Phil Esposito has scored his 500th goal!! That’s a lot! He is the 6th player to get to that milestone, edging out Dave Keon, who got his 500th goal a month later. Esposito accomplished this feat faster then anyone other then Gordie Howe.

Esposito has alot more goals in him!

Montreal hasn’t had a lot of team success since expansion, but it looks like they just developed a star. Don Lever, a 24 year old winger, has emerged as the most talented Canadien in years. Drafted 12th overall in 1970, Lever always had talent, and has always scored some. He had 49 points as a rookie, and a career high 84 points 2 years ago, but this year, he’s taking it too a different level. Through 54 games, Don Lever leads the NHL in goals, with 42! He’s also got 38 assists, and leads the league in points with 80! With 26 games remaining, will he erase Marcel Dionne’s goal scoring record just a year after being set?

Lever should hit 50 easily

Bobby Orr just made history. He’s become the first defenseman to eclipse the 100 point mark! It’s actually only been 17 years since Dickie Moore first hit 100 points. Since then, it’s been accomplished 47 more times. Bobby Orr is now a member of that club, and, like I said, the only defenseman. Orr deserves the Hart Trophy this year. He’s been the best player in hockey this year, and his team has excelled.

100 points for Bobby Orr!

Final Standings

The Rangers finish with the best record in the league, while the defending champs put up their best regular season in their new home!

Atlanta improves from 7 wins to 30 wins! Bryan Trottier deserves a lot of that credit. He deserves a Hart Trophy, maybe more the Orr, for how he’s effected his team.

The Capitals end up with 11 wins, four more then Atlanta last year. They are still horrible.

Don Lever doesn’t set any records, but still leads the league in goals with 54, which is a lot!

Billy Harris finished the year with 40 points in 55 games, in the AHL! Maybe the AHL is a better league then the WHA?

Terry O’Reilly only had 317 PIM’s this year. Over 100 minutes less then last year. He’s pretty much an angel these days!

Ron Stackhouse was not great in St. Louis. His offense dried up a bit, as he put up just 36 points, but he still played good defensively. He couldn’t get his team into the playoffs. I still think it’s a great trade for the Blues. Ron Schock had 42 points in 62 games for the first place Barons. Good secondary scoring, he’s not a first liner anymore.

1977 NHL Playoffs

1st Round

As you can see from the seedings, these playoff matchups are not correct again. After winning 17 straight playoff series, the Toronto Maple Leafs drop their 2nd in a row! 12 seed Atlanta, the lowest seed in the playoffs, advance. They should have been playing Toronto, but got a break playing Philly.

2nd Round

That’s not a typo, the Rangers beat Atlanta 12-1 in two straight games! Hartland Monahan scored five goals for New York in game four! Buffalo provides the biggest upset of the 2nd round, getting 3 straight overtime win, en route to beating Norris division champion LA Kings!

3rd Round

#1 Ny Rangers vs #8 Buffalo Sabres

Game one is what we call a marathon that never ends! The Rangers go up 2-1 after a period. Pete Mahovlich’s 2nd goal of the game gives NY a 3-1 lead, but Buffalo is able to tie it in the third, with a Willy Lindstrom goal. We need overtime. The two teams play 20 more minutes without a winner. They play a 2nd 20 minutes, and nobody scores. A third overtime is needed, and halfway through, it’s Brian Glennie, getting a goal at the 110:10 mark of the game, winning it, 4-3, for the Rangers! The two tired teams played a sloppy game two, as can be expected. Terry O’Reilly, having a very nice playoff, opens the scoring with his 5th. The teams combine for 6 goals in the 2nd period, ending with a 4-2 NY lead. After cutting the lead to one, Buffalo’s Gerry Hart scores short handed to tie it, and force overtime! They only need 5 minutes to finish this one. Syl Apps jr scores for the Rangers. 5-4 final score!

Glennie ends game one in the third overtime!

Hartland Monahan scores his 10th to give the Rangers a game three lead. Gary Bergman and Bert Wilson add to that lead, which the Rangers never relinquish. 3-1 New York wins. One game away from a sweep. Jude Drouin’s first goal of the series gives the Sabres a badly needed game four lead. Bobby Orr ties it in the third, but Buffalo gets a 2 goal response, giving them enough leeway to squeak out a 3-2 win to stay alive!

Hartland Monahan has 10 goals so far!

In game five, Peter Stastny’s early marker gives NY a 2-0 lead. Buffalo fights back, and Bill Barber would tie it before the end of the period. After exchanging goals in the 2nd, Brian Glennie scores a go ahead goal for NY in the third. The Rangers then kill the last 13 minutes of the game, suffocating the Sabres offense. NY wins 4-3, and take the series in 5!

#2 Cleveland vs #6 Pittsburgh

The underdog Penguins jump out to a 2-0 lead scoring twice in 83 second span. Rick Kehoe and Denis Potivin fight back for the Barons, tying it, but Pittsburgh has an answer. Terry Harper gives the Penguins a lead they would not let go of. 3-2 Penguins win game one.Marcel Dionne opens the scoring of game two, and the Penguins coast from that point. They lead 3-0 after a period, and win it 7-3! Dionne finishes with 3 points. Is an upset brewing?

Dionne leads Pittsburgh to an easy game 2 win!

Game three sees no scoring until the third period. Cleveland’s Dale Hoganson and Pittsburgh’s Don Luce score 2 minutes apart. That’s it for the third. The two teams need overtime. Hoganson turns out to be the hero, getting his 2nd of the game. Cleveland wins game three, 2-1. Game four starts with Dale Hoganson scoring again…and again. He gets two first period goals, while teammate Mel Bridgman adds another. Rick Kehoe makes it 4-0 in the 2nd, and the rest is just elementary. 5-2 Cleveland ties the series.

Hoganson with four goals in games 3 and 4!

Denis Potvin keeps the momentum going for Cleveland, scoring in the first. Bobby Clarke manages to tie the game, and it stays that way until the dying seconds. With 42 seconds remaining, Marcel Dionne pots the winner! 2-1 Pittsburgh. With the Pens one game away from a trip to the cup, they start poorly. Rick Kehoe’s 12th gives Cleveland a lead. It’s 2-0 after the first, and 4-1 after the 2nd. Rick Kehoe ended up with 2 goals, as Cleveland forces a game 7 with a 4-2 win.

Kehoe leading the Barons!

Game 7

Morris Lukowich opens the scoring by beating Jiri Crha 8 minutes into the first. 1-0 Pittsburgh. Mel Bridgman tips a Borje Salming point shot in to tie it at one late in the first. Right off the draw in the 2nd period, Pierre Mondou breaks in and beats goalie Doug Favell on a real fluky shot. The goal occurs 3 seconds after the opening faceoff. 2-1 Cleveland. That’s the only 2nd period goal.

Mondou scores 3 seconds into the 2nd!

Denis Potvin scores 5 minutes into the third, making it 3-1 Cleveland. The Pens do not go away. Bobby Clarke finds a rebound and puts it behind Crha, cutting the lead to 1 with 12 minutes to play. The Penguins outshoot the Barons 7-0 over the final 10 minutes, but can’t find the net. Cleveland wins 3-2 to win the series in 7!

The New York Rangers are back in the Cup finals after a year away. They have played in 4 of the previous 6 cups, losing every single one of them to Toronto. The Rangers cup slump has reached 27 seasons. Stan Mikita has never won a cup. Bobby Orr has never won a cup. Bernie Parent has never won a cup. These guys have all received multiple awards during their careers, but have never reached the ultimate. The Rangers will play Cleveland. The Barons won the cup last year, in California, beating the team the Rangers could not beat. The Barons are very talented. They have a lot of depth, on both forward and defense. They have 12 players with double digit goals. They have star power in Potvin, Salming, and Jiri Crha, who clearly is legit. This should be a good series.

Man, this could be a dynasty...that gets snuffed early! How does the game handle the demise of the Barons, anyhow? Do they get merged with Minnesota, or do their guys just become free agents?

I have no idea, and i'm really curious to find out. If there is a merger, man, the North Stars will be stacked!

Cannot trade away your two best centers with only 4th line and AHL centers left on the depth chart. Those trades of Drouin and Leduc were just dumb!

Peter Stastny and Ed Kea exchange goals as the first period ends tied. After that, it’s all Rangers. Stasnty would finish with 2 goals and 2 assists, while Hartland Monahan had 4 points aswell. NY wins the opener 5-2. Greg Sheppard’s two goals had Cleveland leading 2-1 after a period in game two, but the Rangers had a big 2nd frame. Terry O’Reilly scored twice, while Stan Mikita and Bobby Orr each assisted twice. The Rangers score 4 times in the period, spearheading their 6-4 win!

Stastny has a great game one!

With Cleveland hosting game three, their first ever finals game, the Barons grab the early lead, only to see it disappear mid way through the 2nd. Peter Stastny’s 2 assists are 16 and 17 of the postseason. He’s having a hell of a playoffs. Rick Kehoe’s 15th goal ties it early in the 3rd. Kehoe, like Stastny, is thriving. The tight game is decided 76 seconds before overtime. Guy Lapointe beats Jiri Crha, giving NY a 3-2 win, and a 3-0 series lead! Facing elimination, Ron Schock got 2 assists, Dave Schultz got his first playoff goal and Jiri Crha made 20 saves. The Barons shut out the Rangers, 2-0.

Crha gets his 2nd career finals shut out!

Back in NY, the MSG crowd is eagerly expecting a Stanley Cup celebration almost 3 decades in the making. Borje Salming would quiet them down, getting the games first goal. No more scoring would occur until the 18:22 mark of the third period, when Per Olov Brasar added some Cleveland insurance. Jiri Crha posts his 2nd straight shutout, crushing Ranger fans with a 2-0 win. Bill Fairbairn scores NY’s first goal in 7 periods, giving the Rangers a game six lead. Cleveland does tie it in the 2nd, which leaves the teams deadlocked heading into the third. Early in the period, Pete Mahovlich finds the back of the net, giving NY a lead that could win a title. The Barons get some pressure, but not nearly enough. NY holds them off for the 2-1 win. The Rangers are once again, champions!

1977 NHL Offseason News and Notes

Here are the results of the 5th Avco Cup final.

Here are the skating leaders for the season.

Here are the goalie leaders for the season.

Here are the Playoff scoring leaders.

Neither Bobby Orr, nor Bryan Trottier win the Hart Trophy. I thought they were the 2 most deserving, but i often disagree with whom the game chooses.

Trottier does pick up the Calder Trophy, and Orr takes home the Pilote and Conn Smythe!

The WHA looks like it’s going through some tough times. The Calgary Cowboys, Phoenix Roadrunners, Minnesota Fighting Saints and San Diego Mariners have all folded. That means players like Danny Gare, Charlie Simmer, Randy Carlyle and Tiger Williams can play in the NHL this year if they choose to. The league is down to 8 teams.

Simmer, who scored 109 goals over the last two years, can join Washington this year.

A bunch of significant retirements this year. I’m very surprised to announce that Bobby Hull has decided to retire from the NHL. At 38, Bobby is coming off a 49 goal, 103 point season! In fact, he’s only scored less then 44 goals once in his last 7 years!! This is a huge hit to Toronto. You can’t just replace that kind of production. Bobby Hull scored 589 goals in his career and added another 88 playoff goals. The Maple Leafs will retire his number 10. Here is a look at Hulls career.

In addition to Bobby Hull, Toronto’s top defenseman Bill White has called it a career! White was a journeyman defenseman with Chicago and Toronto, until something clicked. He put up 99 points in his 7 seasons prior to 1968. After that, wow. 555 points over 10 years! A completely different player! Bill White will also have his jersey retired.

White will be going to the HOF!

Frank Mahovlich has retired as well. Yes, another Leaf is getting their number in the rafters of Maple Leaf Gardens. Frank played 18 seasons in Toronto, where he scored 509 goals, and 1099 points. His final 3 years in Long Island weren’t great, but he was able to chip in offensively with 134 points. Mahovlich will NOT have is jersey retired. That’s not OK with me. So I will HONOUR his number 27!

Long time Blackhawk Pat Stapleton has retired from the NHL. He’s not a guy that I talked about a lot. Lets face it, Chicago never won, but had some dynamic stars over the years like Beliveau and Esposito who kept my attention. Pat was a excellent defenseman, who did it on both ends. He retires with 564 points over 1174 games. He was also the 27th player drafted in the initial WHA draft, which shows how well thought of he was. He was a star. Chicago will retire Pat’s number.

In a shocking move, the Maple Leafs trade Jean Ratelle!

Ratelle is probably a top 2 player in Maple Leafs history. He was the straw that stirred the drink. He centered everyone during the greatest dynasty the NHL has ever seen. Toronto deals Ratelle, now 36, to Philadelphia, who desperately needs him. Philly has nothing at center after trading their two talented guys away last year. Ratelle went from first line to 3rd line last year, and saw his production drop to 34 points. If he’s #1 in Philly, and he should be, I expect a ppg pace this year. Ratelle still has it. Toronto gets the rights to young and talented defenseman Bob Murray. Murray was a 60 point player with the Vancouver Blazers and the Calgary Cowboys of the WHA, but with Calgary folding, he could join the Leafs this season. It’s probably smart for the Leafs to deal Ratelle, but if I ran the team, I wouldn’t have been able to pull the trigger.

Ratelle is a Flyer!

The 2nd shocking deal of the day….

Bernie Parent finally wins the Rangers a Stanley Cup and he’s dealt to Buffalo a month later! Parent was the best goalie in hockey, and at this stage of his career, is probably top 3. He’s 32, but he clearly has a lot of game left in him. He lost just 4 times last year!! Buffalo just dealt their old starter, to Montreal for a first, so they basically dealt goalie for goalie, and improved big time. The Rangers will turn to 29 year old Gary Edwards, whose a 4.5 star player, but he’s no Bernie Parent.

Parent to the Sabres!

The Washington Capitals select Mike Bossy, who in my opinion, is criminally underrated in his potential here. He will probably grow, but he is arguably the greatest goal scorer in NHL history. Bossy instantly becomes the face of the Washington Capitals. Joe Mullen 5th to Boston stands out, and the Flyers get Pete Peeters in the middle of the first round. Nice pickup.

Here’s a look at Mike Bossy.

Wow, as you can see, Bossy spurns the Capitals and signs with the WHA Indianapolis Racers. Maybe Washington won’t be all that improved. If they can stay ****ty for a few years, they might get a chance to draft you know who…..

After the draft, Cleveland signs former San Diego Mariners goalie Curt Ridley. A 5 star goalie, probably the 2nd best WHA goalie, will now compete with Jiri Crha for playing time. It’s not a move Cleveland needed to make, but they owned Ridley’s rights, after drafting him 20th overall in 1971. Ridley is currently ahead of Crha on the Barons depth chart. Might be smart to deal one of them, as their are teams that need goaltending!

Ridley leaves the WHA for Cleveland!

Even though they lost Bossy, Randy Carlyle does join Washington. Ian Turnbull, an excellent offensive defenseman, who had 299 points in the WHA, is now on the NY Rangers blueline. Danny Gare shuns the NHL and the Atlanta Flames, signing with the New England Whalers. Charlie Simmer does the same, taking his 62 goals last year to Indianapolis. Simmer will be joined by Tiger Williams with the Racers. The NHL missed out on some real talent. The Racers have added some real talent this year!

Turnbull is 2nd on New York's depth chart! He's a great addition!

It’s time for the Iron Curtain drawing. The first random number is 16, which is the Toronto Maple Leafs. They don’t have an eligible player. #4 comes up next, meaning Peter’s brother, Marian Stastny will be joining the Chicago Blackhawks! Stastny is older then Peter, and at 24, is almost fully developed. Chicago has held Stastny’s rights since picking him 110th in the 1973 draft. He’s currenty listed as their 2nd line RW.

The next random number is 13, belonging to the Flyers, but they don’t have an eligible player. 15 is next, belonging to St. Louis. They needed this. Milan Novy will join St. Louis this year. The 26 year old Czech center is a 4.5 star player. The Blues have been waiting on him for 6 years. He will be the #1 center on a Blues team that needs him!

Novy will play for St. Louis!

Pittsburgh changed their uniforms this year. I love these.

Onto the season!!

Bossy on the Racers? This could get interesting.

Which type of player development did you select at the start of the game?
Recalculate or the FHM development engine?
Thanks!

1977-78 NHL Season Preview

Player Spotlight

The Buffalo Sabres almost made the Stanley Cup last year, and just added a franchise level goalie in Bernie Parent. Is this the year Buffalo makes that next step to a legit championship contender. Buffalo’s top player is Bill Barber. Barber had 41 goals and 103 points last year, and has 435 points in 392 career games. Barber has become one of hockey’s elite players. Here is a look at him.

Gordie Howe’s son, Mark Howe is a pretty good player. Howe can effectively play defense, LW or C. His versatility is special. He is currently slotted on Colorado’s top LW spot on their depth chart. The 22 year old hasn’t had any huge seasons, but that could be because he’s been bouncing around from defense to forward. He’s about to start his 4th NHL season, and if he stays on wing, I’m predicting a big breakout year for him. Here’s a look at Mark Howe.
