Carolina Panthers owner under investigation for misconduct

Wonder how many games Goodell will suspend him for

Uh...it looks like forever. Richardson has apparently agreed to sell the team after the season.

I know this is total clickbait, but still fun to think about:

I always had in the back of my mind Jerry was one of those "good ol' boys". I don't know if you guys remember, but Jerry's business had accusations before about not serving people of color in his Denny's franchises. I saw no signs of it as an owner, but I've always been wary. Somebody on my job knows Jerry's neighbors & claims he changed for the worse after his heart surgery.

RIght now, I'm concerned about the Panthers staying in North Carolina. From what I've heard, this is terrible timing because the Panthers can soon break out of their lease if they want.

It was just a matter of time. Sports owners are almost always old white men entrenched in money and wealth and this current wave of women coming out from the shadows was bound to affect some ownership situations.

I wonder how much the Panthers will sell for? 1.5? 2.0?

Well certainly moving would be bad. I didn't think of that. Though now that LA is full, I'm less worried about. I suppose they could move to St. Louis, though I can't see that being any better than Charlotte.

MSN did not do their research.

Jordan cannot own the Panthers even if he wanted to, had the money and the NFL would grant it to him.
The NBA forbids owners from having stakes in other franchises.

And no way in hell the NFL gives Diddy a majority ownership even though he could cover a vast portion of the 53% stake.

I think he and Curry will be minority owners. Probably see a boring hedge fund mogul purchase the team.
NC has a lot of tech money floating around.

Ah yes, the classy "buckle the seatbelt" maneuver. Nice. I'm sure every woman wants their seatbelt fastened for them with a free side of grope.

I think I've lost faith in humanity.

In a quick look on Wikipedia, there were several owners that are majority owners in other franchises. Tom Benson and Jerry Reinsdorf were the obvious ones, but there are others. Are you sure this is correct?

In either event, hopefully MJ will be content ruining one franchise in Charlotte.

You are correct.
I read what I had read before and it is not sourced at all. I don't think the article I read is factually correct.

And I should have known better.
I read something about the Kroenke family just a short time ago and I was shocked at how many sports franchises they own.

The thing is, didn't Jerry Jones have someone accusing him at one time?

Edit: Yep.

Wonder if someone is thinking about moving the Panthers to London.

I'd doubt it. It's possible Toronto might try to jet in there.

My fear is that the NFL is so antsy to get rid of Richardson that they will be willing to sell to anyone. Including people who aren't interested in keeping the team in Charlotte long term. The fact Goodell hasn't said anything makes me nervous. You'd think if the NFL was committed to Charlotte, there would be a statement to such.

Meanwhile, the Panthers have put a woman in charge of the franchise.
