The Tail of a Tiger -- The 2006 Detroit Tigers

I wanted to try my hands at a dynasty report. It's been a long time since I've reported one so here goes.

It's 2006. Opening Day and the Tigers are ready to begin season play. The team is much the same as their real life counterparts were at that time. The only trade made was sending C Josh Phelps to the Mets for Jose Lima who will be in the bullpen this opening Day.

The only injury in spring training was Magglio Ordonez, who sprained his ankle, and will be out until early May.

Lets take a look at the team now.

Rotation
Jeremy Bonderman
Nate Robertson
Kenny Rogers
Justin Verlander
Mike Maroth

Bullpen
Todd Jones
Fernando Rodney
Jamie Walker
Jose Lima
Chris Spurling (for now)
Zach Miner

OD Lineup
CF Curtis Granderson
C Ivan Rodriguez
SS Carlos Guillen
DH Marcus Thames
3B Brandon Inge
1B Chris Shelton
LF Craig Monroe
2B Placido Polanco
RF Matthew Joyce (Ordonez on DL)

Bench
C Vance Wilson
IF Omar Infante
IF Ryan Raburn
OF Dmitri Young
OF Ryan Ludwick

Next up our early schedule:

We'll start on the road in Kansas City and then on to Arlington before coming home to face the White Sox then the Indians.

We split our first two games and leave KC with a 1-1 record. Bonderman was really good and I hope to see alot more of that.

Next is a 4-game set at Texas.

Game 1. Texas started Michael Kirkman in game 1. Kirkman walked 3 of the first 4 batters he faced. Chris Shelton singled and drove in 2. Nate Robertson pitched a 5 hit shutout.

Game 2. Both starters got roughed up and this one went 13 innings with Lima picking up the loss.
