of course it's important. I have never had it omitted from any of my test leagues, so I can't say what's happening. The fact that you DO have that draft once is what's a bit unnerving. And never again, eh? I'll look into it. See what I can find in terms of what's already being researched. Next day or two before I know. Maybe. Do what I can.

It's major league level, right? Can you post a screenshot from your setup where Rule 5 is checked along with Option Years, etc....?

In this game the draft is usually schedueled for Decemeber or January 1, and when you go on the little baseball to see what ahead or if you want to sim a little bit, the draft is not there for upcomming events.

Okay, I'm going to run some more tests on this end. Ask more questions, if I have them. I'll also check and see if this has been assigned a TT# yet, and finding that it isn't and we can't evaluate why - I'll add it to the list. Sorry I don't have anything more immediate for you. Probably back at you over the weekend. Thanks for the patience. If you happen to spot a thread indicating this HAS been assigned a TT, let me know by PM and I'll at least get this thread added to the comments for reference. Appreciate it.

TT#1770 is already in the database as reported. I added this thread for reference. Please note the TT# for your info should the need arise.

MParty is right. You can draft but then you have to move a player off the 40 to make room.

Edit: I was wrong. Just looked it up online. Weird cuz I thought I heard of teams releasing someone after making a Rule 5 pick to make room. Sorry.

Thanks Endgame, hopefully the screen shots will be helpful. If you need more/different screenies feel free to send me a PM.

Yeah, no problem. I'm just puzzled why I can't get it to skip on this end. It's on my still-trying-to-break list and maybe I can reproduce it.

It's just strange.

Thanks for your help.

Rule 5 Option Changes

Just to let you know that after you setup your league the Rule 5 Option turns itself off after the 1st season..Thanks

Same here. Running a historical using Lahman 5.3 with no financials, no minors, no trades and assigned rookies...

Does this only apply to the first year you play through? I started a league and simmed the first five years before I took over that October, and participated in the Rule 5 draft.

A similar issue has been addressed, and most likely it is just that no teams have room on their 40-man rosters.

I'm Not sure about the other teams rosters but when I noticed Rule 5 draft not happening went to the setup and Rule 5 plus a couple finance items are turned right off

I think I went through a Rule 5 draft just once, in my first season, but none since then. I'm almost positive that the Rule 5 draft option is turned on (not in front of that computer at the moment).

I'm guessing that this has been brought up (Rule 5 draft)

But, I didn't see it; so...

I'm in 1996 after importing lahman. I went through the year and got to the off-season. Here I'm looking forward to the Rule 5 draft and even made roster moves to prevent guys from getting taken on the rule 5 draft. But alas, no rule 5 draft this year. I goto the "sim ahead" baseball icon and there it is...but it isn't until 2006...say what?
