This is a bunch of Crap!!!! Fix THE PROBLEM
I will state here and now, that I do not want to hear any longer that you need to save your file. First and formost, it sounds like this is a pretty commom problem. I sugust that you the owner and one making a lot of money off of this game figure out how to fix this problem. Find out why we are all having this problem and develop a patch.
I can't tell you how pissed off I am right now. DO NOT USE THE COP OUT EXCUSE THAT YOU NEED TO BACK YOUR FILES UP. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS SPEND SOME OF THE MONEY THAT YOU ARE MAKING ON US AND FIX IT> Thanks for letting me vent Stew

You are correct, the software is a problem. But, what software? Is it OOTP? We have certainly talked about it as a company and w/o a doubt it is not perfect. But I dare say that many if any folks have run more seasons or allowed the game to run more often than I and yet it has happened to me “ONCE”. Problems are going to happen with any software I don’t care what company produces it or how much testing they put it through in the end there are still going to be issues.
Files becoming corrupted or unable to be used can be caused by any number of issues, here is a short list: -adding or removing other software on your PC. -power surges. -turning the PC off improperly. -adding or removing hardware. -a virus. -a fragmented hard drive. -having your PC lockup or freeze. -improperly closing a program. -hardware failure(that has either shown itself or maybe not yet). Just to name a few. What caused your problem? I have no idea, was it OOTP? I really don’t know but I do know that THERE IS NOT A SOFTWARE PROGRAM on the market or in development today that does not have the chance that this will happen to part or all of the program. BTW, didn't some multi-billion dollar software firm have a "security issue" with one of their programs yesterday that caused a few small problems.

I agree. Anyone that uses computers on an regular basis KNOWS that you always backup your data that is important to you.
I can not tell you how many times I have seen major problems solved because of some customer that had backed up their information to another hard drive, zip files, or CD/R , CD/RW. Saves time, money, and frustration. I backup regularly. Sure helps out in the long run. Maybe it is just me, but I know if I had a problem and read that you need to backup your data elsewhere on the boards , I sure wouldn't take the company and it's programmers and staff to task for something that obviously was not their fault. Steve deserves a lot of kudos for patience. I would have taken him behind the woodshed for that set of comments. No one knows what kind of problems or system he has. All we have are comments about something that happened to him. On a customer service slant, how do you help someone that didn't give you much to start out with in the beginning? Patience, and lots of questions....... Next time tell us a little bit more about your computer, what you were doing besides playing OOTP 5, and remember the more information we have, the more efficient we can be to help you solve the problem.
