Hiram College Terriers Recap.....

We've been a pack-only (F2P) team since the second week of PT20 and enjoyed some earlier success due to lucky pack pulls. We eventually hit a wall in silver and decided to bark at said wall for 12 seasons before finally moving on. So far in gold we've been very dominate but get sidetracked by every mailman, car, and squirrel whenever the post season rolls around. It shouldn't be long before we move on to the diamond level as the team has had a bit of luck upgrading through packs.

This mornings "cross my fingers and rip" strategy produced another starter. Hopefully he'll be able to focus the Terriers this post season.

We primped and cleaned 6 Terriers for the all star game festivities this season. I believe that's the most we've ever sent at one time.
The lucky pups were:

Justin Turner (most popular pup)
Gabby Hartnett
Jeff McNeil
Anthony Rizzo
Don Drysdale
Fernando Valenzuela

On a frustrating note, I pulled a 100 Curt Schilling peak card on my third team. He would've made an awesome Terrier. Or at least his price tag would have. Oh well.

EDIT: I netted 373,500 points for selling Schilling. I'll probably do the Pirates missions and then blow the rest on packs. Still bummed it wasn't this team though lol

Hello Pueblo.
There's a bunch of Terriers sniffing around right behind you.

The Terriers finished 90-72 and earned a spot in the wildcard game. I'm fine with that because the last two seasons we were the number one seed and got run out of the division series.

An early morning visit to the kennel awarded us with a 100 DeGrom. That's just my second perfect card pulled so I'm quite pleased. My only issue is, I'm pretty happy with my starting pitching and might sell him for the points. I'll think about it through the day before I decide.

The Terriers forgot what time the wildcard game started and ended up getting trounced by the Pueblo Penny Pinchers.

I decided to keep DeGrom, so Tiny Bonham will be bounced into the bullpen for the upcoming season.

We've had 90 plus wins every season in gold so far, but we're not having any playoff luck so we remain in gold until we figure it out.

Oh, and Gabby Hartnett got his first MVP award! He hit .337 with 14 HR's. He wins my Best In Show award by far!

The Terriers are off to another strong start in gold (30-16) and maintain a 6 game lead over a team named Bort Simpsons (I chuckled when I saw that name. It made me think back to the episode where the Simpson's went to the amusement park and there were no "bart" license plates in the gift shop, only "borts")
Anyways, here's our updated roster....

Starters:
100 Degrom (LIVE)
98 Sale (LIVE)
97 Drysdale
97 Morton (LIVE)
92 Beckett

Bullpen:
96 Papelbon
92 Bonham
90 Chapman (LIVE)
89 Betances (LIVE)
89 Cole
89 Valenzuela
80 Tuivailala (LIVE)

C 90 Hartnett
1b 89 Rizzo (LIVE)
2b 90 McNeil (LIVE)
3b 97 Turner (LIVE)
SS 90 Machado (LIVE)
LF 82 Brantley (LIVE)
CF 87 Maddox
RF 87 Puckett
DH 69 Carew

Bench:
C 70 Munson
2b 75 Hamner
SS 66 Aparicio
RF 66 Johnson

I also have a few interesting reserve players I might work into the roster soon:
SP 90 Strasburg (LIVE)
2b 91 Altuve (LIVE)
RF 85 Nelson Cruz (LIVE)

Chris Sale threw his 2nd career no hitter! He wins a jumbo-sized novelty rawhide bone.
This is the 3rd no hitter in Terrier history. Charlie Morton has the other one.

The Terriers are in first place once again at the all-star break. The loudest barkers who win all-star bids and new flea collars are:

Justin Turner
Jeff McNeil
Don Drysdale
Jacob DeGrom

Could this be the year we move on to the diamond level??

Packs opened- 403
Perfects- 2
Diamonds- 13
Golds- 42
Silvers- 109

The Terriers have finally graduated gold and will be headed to diamond next season. We still have a chance for a title before we leave though as we await either the Crandon Cardinals or the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in the LCS.

On a side note, the Ohio City Chefs are being shipped back up to the perfect level. This time they have reinforcements in the name of 100 Boudreau so maybe they can last for more than 2 seasons this time around.

The Terriers got swept in the LCS by the red hot Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.
All's good at the Dog Park however, as we're going to Diamond.
We finished 91-71

Best In Show:
Don Drysdale 19-9 2.24 ERA (He's likely to be the Cy Young winner this year)
Kirby Puckett .302 16 HR 92 RBI (LDS MVP)

We're in the same league this week..you and my Brooklyn Dynasty. 3 game series in late June at the Kingdom, and 3 more in September at the Dog Park.

Cool!
I'll field a whole team of John Jay's if you field a whole team of Connor Joe's. That way we can see who the biggest pack parasite really is

Wrong team. You'll probably need to get relegated to meet the Connor Joe Appreciation Society at some point

As for the Dynasty...they're out for blood after an embarrassing 99-loss relegation season. They'll look to neuter the Terriers...but not before petting them for being cute.

Haha!
I noticed you were in first place and have some really good hitters. What's the theme of your Brooklyn Dynasty, if any?
And FYI, you might want to hire a cleaning crew when the Terriers leave the Kingdom. We're really messy. Especially when we lose.

No theme. Just been ripping a lot more packs than usual lately, and it netted me peak Frank Robinson and that peak Lee Smith that comes in from the 7th inning on and shuts everyone down. Most of the players I've had for some time.

The 96 Jeff McNeil stole a batting title off of the megawhales during a week of whale hell.

Well, the Terriers dropped 3 of 4 to league leading (and old friend) Brooklyn. The lone bright spot for the Terriers was a Don Drysdale complete game shutout 3- hitter. I've instructed the Terriers to bite at will when Brooklyn visits the Dog Park in September.

Brooklyn 10 Terriers 5
Brooklyn 7 Terriers 6 (12 innings)
Terriers 4 Brooklyn 0
Brooklyn 2 Terriers 1

The rest of the league is biting me as it is...the big lead I had is just about gone.

At the all star break, it appears that the Terriers and Brooklyn are likely to meet in the playoffs. That is assuming the Brooklyn manager doesn't impulsively sell all his players in a fit of rage, and the Terriers focus on baseball instead of shadows creeping across the outfield.

Anyways, two pups were sent off to enjoy the all star festivities....

We might consider selling Fisk...has not met expectations at all. Other than that, nothing's moving as far as the AH goes, so probably no worries about me rageselling everyone.

I hope no Brooklyn players were diving for balls in the outfield because those weren't mud piles out there.
Anyways, Brooklyn bested us once again. Well done Magus!

Terriers 8 Brooklyn 1
Brooklyn 7 Terriers 3
Brooklyn 4 Terriers 2

Seeing as both teams lead their divisions, a playoff showdown is a possibility.
