Here's another kinda sports cliche' about the Cardinals....

Guess they used up all their runs and hits in Atlanta.

How many times have you seen teams in every sport absolutely crush someone one week or day and then almost go completely inept the next. You hear that cliche, "Well, guess they left all of their runs in ________!"
Or "Looks like they used up all of their touchdowns back in ________!"

Hmm....2 runs and four hits in TWO games for the NLCS.

Maybe it isn't a cliche'?! The Cardinals emptied the tank in Game 5 at Atlanta!

hey now... at least get the stats right...

it's 1 run and four hits in two games

might challenge the 1905 Athletics for post season futility.... they only managed to score 3 runs (all in game 2) and were shutout the other 4 games

That's right! I forgot they were shut out last night. I was thinking 2-1. I stand corrected!

Yeah but the Athletics were going against Christy Mathewson.
The bigger lost would be for the Montreal Expos fans. That is if the Nationals win it all.

Who will be watching a Nationals vs Yankees or Astros series ?

MLB really wanted either the #1 Dodgers or St. Louis to be facing the Yankees so the build up could be about the history of the game and matchups of the teams . With the Nationals = it is east coast -- and they talk about Washington's baseball history ?

When they talk about Washington baseball history -- Do they talk about all the failed teams ? or history back through Montreal ?

Where did the 'stros' offense go, though?

Man, the Cards really need to let the young Mickey Mantle play if they want to … err, score at least an earned run for a change. I don't think there's holy water that potent to save their feathers in any case...

The Cards appear to be done. Now, can a hot team that appears to be on quite a roll derail whichever powerhouse comes out of the AL? For me, I'm hoping the Yanks & Stros beat the tar out of each other and limp into the World Series, and then get thumped by the Nats...

Could the Nats be their own worst enemy? They could be sat around for a bit, yes their on a roll but will that roll burn out a bit if their sat doing nothing. Wonder what Bryce Harper is thinking "damn those Nats"?

Am I the only one?

I've got the MLB app, anyway I've been listening to the St Louis and Washington series on the radio part, I've actually been listening the broadcast from the road team. I enjoy the radio broadcasts more than the TV broadcasts, although I probably during the season watch the TV broadcasts 70% of the time. So anyone else enjoy the radio broadcasts? I think my enjoyment with the radio broadcasts is that's how I got into baseball in the first place, that was the late 80s listening the armed forces radio station

Love listening on the radiio
It's how I kept up with my local minor league team when I was a kid.

I really just watch my team and listen to any other games that I can

You know how I knew the Yanks were going to tie it in the top of the 9th? Because Smoltz was reciting the aftermath in the bottom of the 8th.
