Exactly. Need to reinstall a game, just push a button.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Fast Break Basketball (pro and college) are excellent games with tons of customization and realistic simulations. The forums arent as buzzing as here, but its still the best basketball sim series.

FOF was just greenlit on Steam.. best football sim out there.

I have tons of Steam games, but I prefer sports sims direct download.. seems like patches don't come out near as quick on steam as they do directly from the developer. Just my $0.02

Yeah, similarly, I like the option of having 14 & 15 available on my Steam library, but I don't have them installed via Steam. I like to be able to patch ootp manually for the same reason.

Bottom line, as others have pointed out -- folks should just pre-order and get the best of both worlds!

I know there is a process that the developer has to upload the patch and Steam has to clear it and sometimes Steam takes their sweet time. I can see the rationale behind not using Steam. With the pre-order you can have both, saying the man who did not pre order last year!

Hmmm...I think I misread what you get with the pre-order.

Quote:
ATTENTION: Pre-Order now, save $5 and get the game three days prior to official launch plus an additional free Steam key! Download link will be distributed via email and on our web site once the game is released in March 2015.
For some reason I was thinking that meant:

2 computer codes
2 steam codes

Is it that, or what do you get?

Thanks. I wanted to use my 2nd steam code with a second steam account I use for school.

1 steam code. It's all you need.

"An additional steam code" made me believe there were two.

I have a Steam account at school and it'd be perfect to use for my students. But...if you say it's all I need...okie dokie!

You could set up a second Steam account and do the family share program I believe so your students do not see your real Steam log in.

Not so much that I'm afraid of them seeing my Steam log-in, I just have a dedicated Steam account that I use on my school computer.

I'll look into the family share program, though.

edit: entire game library available / seen. Yeah, don't like that. I'll look more, but Family share doesn't seem like a good option. Thanks though for the idea.

That is how a friend of mine does it, she is a teacher and it has worked out for her.

Hey guys, brand new to the forum. I purchased OOTP 15 a few weeks ago and am considering pre-ordering OOTP 16 now.
Sorry to bring up the subject again, especially if I missed the answer somewhere in the first 4 pages of the thread, but if I pre-order to game and download it on my computer can I gift the steam code to a friend who would otherwise not purchase the game so he can try it out?
Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forum! I believe you can since the Steam code is just for Steam. Someone correct me if I am wrong?

FOF? what is that? If it's as good as you say it is, my PS4 will never see the light of day again with that, FM and OOTP!

Front Office Football 7

It's on Steam now too! Similar to OOTP, but NFL football. The UI isn't the best for NEW players, but it's a fantastic sports sim and my favorite along with OOTP and DDS PB 4.

The best is preordering now, since that includes a free Steam key, so you get the best of both worlds.
Note for people seeing this in 2018 -- this is no longer the case as these keys are no longer given out on pre-orders (this year). I hope this will change as it was nice to have the flexibility.
