Thousands of Teams, One Champion

Throughout baseball history, there have been the good teams, the bad teams, and everything in between. But never before have all the teams come together in one tournament to decide the title of the best baseball team ever.

Each season from 1901 to 2007 will be replayed 5 times. The best teams will advance to Round 2, where they will face off with their season-mates again, or possibly even the Final Bracket.

The Final Bracket will contain 384 teams. The first team for each series to win 20 games will move on to the next round, and at the end, only two teams will remain. Who will win it all?

ROUND 1 FORMAT:

Each ML season 1901-2007 is replayed 5 times
Teams earn berths in Round 2 by gaining Credit Points (CPs)
Teams which gain 2 or more CPs advance to Round 2, except for the leader which gets an automatic trip to the Final Bracket
World Series will be played every season, even 1901, 1902, 1904, and 1994, to give every team an equal shot

CPs FOR 8-TEAM LEAGUE (ML 1901-1960, NL 1961)

The top 5 teams in the majors earn 1 CP each
1/2 CP for league pennant, additional 1/2 for World Series title
1/2 CP for equivalent of 81-73 record or better if no points under previous two rules

I'm just wondering: Should I put the results in this thread or a separate one? You can give me some input here!

Sorry for the three-week delay. I was sick for a few weeks and I forgot about this for a while...

Edit: 1901 results posted.

Can I make a suggestion? If you don't want 1901-60 teams to be overrepresented in the next round, you might want to give 1 point for finishing in the top X% of baseball, not the top five overall spots. It's much tougher to be one of the top 5 of 30 (present-day) as it is to be one of the top 5 of 16 (1901-60).

I am using the X% formula and it so happens to be 5 in the 1901-60 era.

Oh, okay. Sorry - I should have realized you'd have thought this through.
