Position Players showing w/Pitcher Roles in Clubhouses
Hi Steve (or anyone else who knows),
We're just about done with our league. One problem that's glaring for us is this: We go to team pages in the clubhouse. Some position players show not just at their position, but in a pitcher's spot under a certain role. Website is at http://www.emlb-baseball.com/clubhouses/index.html Go to any team (Mine is Boston). Look at a player like Tom Corbett, who is a RF, but also shows as a Closer. In the game itself, we did have him show as a RF, with a Pitcher's Role of Closer. Many players had this problem, we went through them all and fixed in the game. We just turned Editor on, and rifled through all the positions until we got back to their natural position. Apparently, it doesn't remove the role...even though the role doesn't show anymore. I should note when you look at specific positions in Roster...a player might not show up. However when you select 'All', they will. Can this be fixed, and remove these roles to have the game ID these players correctly? Thanks!

This is a problem that "user created" sets have, players were edited. The game will not do this.

You are correct, Sir. This is a user created matter taken by turning fictional players into our players we're using, not addressing what the fictionals were before we made our changes. So former MR could now be 3B via our work.
Is there a way to correct this in a .csv file or something so the db will read more correctly? We're not worried about players playing out of position (3B pitching 100 IP), but I'd like to make sure if someone wants to see all 3B available in Free Agency, they don't have to look under All or MR (for example). Thanks.

Update...
The eMLB Commissioner dumped the general_ratings.csv, and discovered that some position players also carried info in the "pitchers roles" column. After clearing all the affected position players, he re-imported the .csv Our thinking was that this should clear the pitcher roles off those position players...but it didnt. Is there any method with which we might "unassign" those pitcher roles? The Editor doesnt seem to have the power...and now, neither does the .csv Any ideas? |
