Paddy Livingston
Quote:
The attached article is from the Indianapolis Star of January 1, 1920. Says that Paddy will be with the Red Sox in 1920. The New York Times of May 14, 1920 reported the following: " Paddy Livingston's stay with the Red Sox was brief. The veteran catcher has drawn his unconditional release and has returned to his home in Cleveland." P.S. The comparison photo of Livingston which I had been viewing is on the following webpage (last photo on the page): http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...opack-499.html Last edited by Cusick; 01-07-2017 at 08:28 AM. Bob Humphreys 1962
Made two appearances in the Dexter file: in the black-based Senators uniform he wore in 1966-67, and in the red-based one he donned in 1968-69.

Bob Heise 1967
Utility infielder, tough to find in the uniform of his original team, which he wore for cameos in 1967, 1968, and 1969.
Dexter did a nice job on the '67 Mets. Last edited by Merkle923; 08-04-2017 at 12:57 AM. |

Merkle, is there any chance there is a Dexter pic of Roberto Pena from the '68 Phillies?

Nope.
Only George Brace photographed Pena, in color, with the Phillies. |

Lumpkin, please make requests for minor leaguer photos on the minor leaguer thread. It's true that sometimes we display minor leaguers on this thread when they are part of a batch of newly displayed Topps Vault photos, but they should be the exception rather than a regular habit. I'm responding to your request and posting a photo of Lockhart on the minor league thread.

Vault Checklist corrections
Ongoing upgrading of Vault checklist (still miles to go):
corrected last name spellings... GE688 is now correctly Greg Mathews HS219 is now correctly Eddie Mathews HV571 is now correctly Nelson Mathews (each was plagued by a renegade extra "t") Skipped over number found HE421 is David Justice Numbers dropped from a checklist altogether! DD839-840 Rob Gardner DD841 Bob Garibaldi DD842 Wayne Garrett DD843 Rod Gaspar (no 844?) DD845-846 Gary Geiger DD848 Gary Gentry (concludes Folder) Another checklist with dropped numbers GU980-981 Mike Payne GU982-983 Larry Payne GU984-985 Mike Paxton GU986-989 Marty Pattin GU990-991 Paul Patterson Correction: AF888 is Chris Cannizzaro Jr., not Randy Kutcher Fixed name JE893-894 is Dennis Littlejohn, listed as "Dennis John" Last edited by Rainmaker; 01-07-2017 at 09:30 PM. |

Here are these guys. I may have a couple of the others, possibly a better Gulden as well.

Vic LaRose 1968
Resuming the Dexter parade, this shot of the September 1968 Cubs' call up shows him in 1966 Spring Training with his original organization, the Angels.
The only other color image out there that I know of him is on his 1969 Topps rookie card and that is taken from a shoot they did of the '68 Tacoma PCL team. Topps did get him in the Cubs '69 camp but never used one of the images and hasn't pulled him out of the bottomless pit that is "the vault." Last edited by Merkle923; 08-04-2017 at 12:57 AM. |

Dave Baldwin 1966
There's a nice shot of him in the '68-69 Senators' red pinstripes, but other than this Dexter, I don't think there's any known color of him in the '66-67 black pinstripes.

Cap Peterson 1962
Not a lot of color of him in any uniform, even in the Senator red he wore in the 1968 season and Spring Training 1969.

I have seen and have these players in black and white: Wells, Bordi, Heath, Kaufman, Lewis, Rhomberg, Wihtol, Crow, Boone, Baller. I posted the Baller here myself a few weeks ago. The Crow is in the Dodgers target series. The Lewis is so bad as to be hardly usable. I will root around tomorrow (my files are disorganized) and post color shots of Pladson, Loucks, Gray, and Schatzeder. If memory serves, a Topps Vault shot of Schatzeder with the Giants may have been posted recently. Dillard is a special case. Years ago a tiny 90 x 135 pic of him was posted on this forum. Shots of that size are useless for my purposes and I am pretty certain for yours as well. It looked to me like a thumbnail from a series of larger White Sox team shots, but so far I have not seen the larger image anywhere. |

Steve Bailey 1967
So once again - is anything better than nothing?
Like Booker, Bailey's photo catalogue consists almost exclusively of his poorly-lit shot in the '67 Cleveland "yearbook," a later black and white shot issued by the team in 1969, and a couple of Vault images after his two-year career was at an end. Or at least that was all we had until this equally badly-photographed shot turned up in the Dexter pile. A photo program salvaged it a little. Last edited by Merkle923; 08-04-2017 at 12:58 AM. |
