Schedule Request: 40 Teams, 264 Games
So I have a very expanded version of the MLB with 2 sub leagues, 4 divisions in each league, and 5 teams in each division. I'd like each team to face their division opponents 16 times, other teams in the league 8 times, and teams from the other league. I'd like all series to be 4 games except for interleague, which should be 2 games.
A format for the season I think would work well would be for the first 5 series to be against your division opponents and one opponent from the other league. For the next 18 series, you face your division opponents once more and each remaining member of your league once. At this point you should have had 2 series against your divisional opponents and 1 against your league opponents. From here begins the interleague series. Each team faces every team from the other league twice (except the series for this are two games). It'd be fine to have Team A and B face each other 4 times in a row, two home, two away. After this you "work backwards", so for the next 18 series, you face your divisional opponents once and all but one of the other league opponents once. Then for the final five series, you face your divisional opponents and the final league opponent. Like a lot of people here believe, I think everyday all teams should play or nobody should play. I was thinking everybody gets a rest after 12 games (3 series), so the format would be series 1, series 2, series 3, break for one day, series 4, etc. Also I don't want an All-star game until the end of the season. If anybody is willing to take this up, my greatest thanks. Last edited by elmergantry1960; 11-14-2015 at 12:31 PM. |

I'm not so sure about that. Major league baseball has only two league-wide off-days during the regular season - the day of the all-star game and the day before.

I started the schedule mid february because the schedule is 285 days long. If that doesn't work, like you want it earlier or later, let me know what day you would like it to start and I can fix the .lsdl file
