Projected $$$ for Extensions

I play in the LRS of the PEBAverse Online League and I have a little bit of a quarrel here;

I think my 2020 Projected Finances are incorrect?

Ok, it says I have a projected 2020 Player Payroll of $31,073,500, BUT when we look at my salary obligations, I only have a player payroll of $17,400,000.

Is this normal? Does this fix itself at season end?

It's a good $14,000,000 difference and would greatly effect my offseason plans if I'm short that $14,000,000 that I've calculated into my plans for 2020.

It says you have a 2020 projected payroll of $30,073,500.

It doesn't say you have a 2020 projected "player" payroll of $30,073,500.

Do you have scouts and/or coaches?

They are part of payroll.

I should have expanded my screenshot a little bit.

Coaches and Scouts are under Misc. Expenses. Along with Player Development and Scouting budgets.

He was released by a PEBA team with 1 year and 100 days of service time. In the LRS, it's 6 years of the league minimum $81,500. I signed him to a one-year deal for $4M. Since he isn't eligible for free agency, his contract will get automatically renewed at $81,500 for a few seasons before arbitration hits.

Yes, one. It's an extension for one of those guys about to hit arbitration. Nishimura. 1 yr/ $440K

That should have no effect on about $14M though..

If you think about it, that $4M is basically a signing bonus. Also, I just signed him with just 18 games to go, so he's only getting about $500K of that $4M.

no it is not. there is a signing bonus feature in OOTP.

if you think about it, the CBA clearly states that a team cannot drop salary by more than 20%, but your league might have disbanded the union, so its not an issue.. i'm looking at MLB

Yeah I know there is a signing bonus feature, I was just saying that is what it is similar to. It's similar because he gets the prorated $500K over the next couple weeks, before getting $81,500/ year until arbitration.

I don't know about the CBA or any of that, I'm not going to question it either, because I'd rather have a guy making $81,500 then $4M for the next 5 seasons.

not sure I understand fully, is the goal figuring out if the display is wrong, which I think it might be...

i'll leave it to the experts to chime in if it is possible to overrule CBA under the system

We figured it out. LF Tomiji Watanabe is still be counted as an "Arbitration" player, but once the season comes to a conclusion, he'll have enough service time to be a free agent. The salary screen has it right, but the main finances screen doesn't?

Should be something that OOTP looks into?

If you demote him now will he still be arbitration eligible?

That's a good question, I'd assume if I demote him, he won't accumulate the last few days of service he needs for free agency.

I just tried to demote him, but since he's been around for so long, he "Refused to be Demoted."

Either way, he won't be on this team once free agency hits. I only acquired him this year as a salary dump for another team in which I grabbed a mid-level prospect.

If he has not hit all of his ARB service days the game treats him as if he is going to ARB even when it seems obvious he will not.
