i'll take a stab in the dark and say that jet lag may be more of a factor in the NFL, where travel is not quite as frequent. in baseball, you usually travel so much that your body doesnt have time to get used to a particular time zone.

who's got a BP writers email addy handy....id like to see a study of MLB players on the first 1-3 days after leaving an extended homestand (10+ days) and heading to the other side of the country.

LOL, exactly.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Now THIS idea I really like. Markus has stated that certain batters are 'programmed' to do better against certain pitchers and vice versa. Why not have players 'programmed' to do better in the playoffs (or in spring training)? If you include a clutch reputation rating in the game, then you may or may not have an actual clutch rating. The players won't know whether the reputation is justified by coding, or if it's just coincidence ('sample size').

Sounds like the perfect solution.

Sounds like a horrible idea to me.
