Have you checked out Baseball Maelstrom lately?
We've completed three weeks of the season. Come check us out and drop me a line to get on the waiting list. I have a feeling we'll be losing an owner or two pretty soon, so now's your chance to get into a unique league.
Each team is lead by a Legend from the team's past (and sometimes present). Also, at the end of the year, the teams that don't make the regular playoffs face each other in a triple elimination tournament - the Maelstrom. In addition, we have detailed rules for waivers and player movement. We have a couple of big things planned for the league. Some of these ideas have never before been seen in an OOTP league. We're also looking for beat writers. We have a couple of guys already who have been writing some solid articles for us, but we'd like a few more. Our beat writers are non-owners who follow the league and write about what goes on. In addition, they have complete voting rights for all polls, Hall of Fame, All-Stars, etc. What are you waiting for? Come join us! <a href="http://www.baseballmaelstrom.com" target="_blank">http://www.baseballmaelstrom.com</a> Watch our (silent) movie trailer: <a href="http://www.baseballmaelstrom.com/maelstrom.html" target="_blank">http://www.baseballmaelstrom.com/maelstrom.html</a> [ March 22, 2002: Message edited by: sporr ]</p> |

Currently using OOTP3, we'll be switching to OOTP4 at the end of the season.

It looks like you have put a lot of work into your league. I would be interested in doing a little work at a beat writer if you could could e-mail me and detail how you would want me to function within your league.

I sent in an application about a week ago or so and never received a reply. I know your busy, but I thought I would post here now instead of emailing again.

Beat writer, huh? Yeah, I can do that...the maelstrom deal looks like a truly fascinating thing... drop me a line at geiiga@rightwaynews.com
Oh, also, looking at the records page. It's JEFF Montgomery with 45 saves for the Royals. Jeff. Not Joe.

We've moved a few beat writers into team ownership, so we have some vacancies writing for the league. We're just a few weeks away from the Playoffs and Maelstrom Tourney (for all the teams that don't make the playoffs). Take a look around our site, and I'm sure you'll find something interesting. Email me if you'd like to sign on. In addition to the league in general, we'll be hosting some cross-league tournaments, so we'll be looking for writers for them as well.

I'd love to get on your waiting list. I've been stopping by your site often because I loved the Legends idea. Shoot me an email and let me know what I need to do.

Hey all of you lurkers and guests. Baseball Maelstrom has a great ongoing quiz on the forum. Taken from Esquire magazine, it's some tough questions and some not-so-tough questions. Pop on by and check it out. New questions will be posted every day or so. While you're there, check out our league.

Baseball Maelstrom will be holding their first Free Agency session LIVE on AOL IM Friday night at 9pm CST.
15 of the top Maelstrom Free Agents will be auctioned off to the highest bidder using a system that will utilize the 30-day free agency period of OOTP4. It looks to be an exciting time with Sammy Sosa and Chipper Jones topping the list of available players. |

I checked out your site but it kinda turned me off when I saw two Tony Gwynn's on the Padres, when he is playing in the outfield does he look over at the guy next to him and go, "Yo Tony wassup!", you couldn't have picked Rollie Fingers or Dave Winfield or Steve Garvey? Heck Goose Gossage or Mark Davis would have been good too.

Hmmm...not sure what you saw. There's only one Tony Gwynn on the Padres. Where did you see two listed?
here's the team page: <a href="http://www.baseballmaelstrom.com/team17.htm" target="_blank">http://www.baseballmaelstrom.com/team17.htm</a> <small>[ 05-31-2002, 01:01 PM: Message edited by: sporr ]</small> |

Shane, I want a refund. You have secretly been putting two of the same player on every team except mine <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Well I'd rather have 1 Tony Gwynn than 3 of any of those guys you listed MrAlphabet.

Even 3/4ths of a Ted Williams would be worth more than 70% of the players nowadays...
