The poll option that won was "Randomize & use friends feature for league construction"

That is not what happened. The implication of the question is that randomization would happen WITH friends feature enabled.

The poll existed for about 24 hours before Markus said "ok thanks everyone"

Obviously if this many people missed the poll it was not super representative.

The poll was only open for 24 hours and I was not here during those 24 hours.

I saw where someone said there were only 78 votes in the poll. So you think that's a good representative number?

Discord, where the game direct you to join the community (and it's a very active and helpful community).

The topic was up for almost 72 hours.

I agree with the problem that the friends feature was supposed to work weeks ago and still apparently does not.

73 votes actually, which is very representative when you consider that there are maybe between 100 and 200 regular posters on the forums, and then you add twice that amount for the logged-in lurkers, so you get somewhere around 400 to 500 regular forum users. 14-18% is enough representation. There is underlying math that proves this.

If I hear Discord one more time I'm gonna scream.

Maybe it is when taken within the context of the number of people actually active on this forum. As has been pointed out, most people never come here and only want to play. Many do not even notice the difference. They do not care. The people here and on the chat server do notice because we interact. A fair majority of the votes were for more random encounters.

I don't see the Friends feature activated, which was the assumption being put forward along with randomization as the poll choice.

If the poll choice was "league randomization with the possibility of the friends feature working but not guaranteed because it's hard", I think the poll results may have ended up differently.

I don't really care one way or the other. I don't think I have ever really looked at my opponents. I'm just playing 3 F2P teams, one being a team of only Baltimore Orioles players. There seemed to be a lot of complaints from many of the PT regular posters on here and on....

Well, if you agree that the poll was not worded correctly, then it cannot possibly be representative no matter how long it was up or how many people voted.

Also, it was up for 72 hours but after 24 Markus said "OK, thanks for the feedback." If you went to that thread and saw that, would you vote?

Me too. When this game starts requiring me to interact on social media platforms, I am done.

I don't give a hill of beans if there is a friends list or not, if there is randomization or not, or shuffling or not. I look and see who the team own is and come find him here on the forums if there is enough info.

I wouldn't consider Discord social media. Its like an AOL chat room with a lot more functionality.

I can't speak for those other posters, but I voted, and I posted very explicitly that I liked randomization if and only if Friends was functional. Several other pro-randomization folks seemed to feel the same way.

In the end it isn't worth hyperventilating over, for either side of the discussion, but I'd rather see a thread with grumpy posters than no thread and no feedback.

Yep, Gold level is hard. 2-5 start to the season, my offense struggling to get going.

This! We voted!!! But we were not delivered what we voted for. So don't go waving that poll around to say the masses have spoken and be happy with what you got.

If I vote for higher taxes so a stadium will be built, then that stadium better be built if you're going to raise my taxes.

I assume the poll was only on these boards as well. There is a lot of PT activity on Discord. I don't know if those folks are here for the poll, but it should've been put up over there too.

One of my teams just eked out the win in their Silver league last year, so got promoted to Gold. I even have a few extra guys who didn't play all last year added to the roster (Killebrew and Aaron). My reward? Well, I'm 8 games into the new season, and let's just say that my latest achievement is for "snapped a 7 game losing streak". I don't think my 5.96 starter ERA or 5.53 bullpen ERA are going to cut it this year...

I'm 3-5, so not much better. This is my first real chance in gold. I know I somehow got in there in the 3rd season, but my team was junk and didn't really come together until September of last season, where my additions made me have a 20-8 September, then as we saw last night, a run through the playoffs and winning the Series 4-1.

So, I know I was in gold before, but I don't count it.
