Yeah. D374. This is Timi's team (which I assume was previously the daunting For The Horde Timi). My division is stacked this year, so it's super frustrating seeing him in another division for others to feast on.

Being a free-to-play team in Diamond is tough enough as it is.

If Timi is deliberately tanking it could lead to a ban. You might want to warn him.

Holy smokes, I just won a Perfect League game in the 19th inning. The winning pitcher: Tim Raines!

I went through my entire bullpen (Sean Doolittle pitched 5 scoreless innings before Raines had to come in) and even came back from 2 and 1 run down in extra innings. It was 0-0 until the 12th. His Larry Dierker pitched a 1-hitter through 9.

We paid to get it shut down. Your post quality was getting too high, so we opened up our wallets so that you wouldn't have a chance to compete.

I have stayed out of that thread but just went in to see what the hoopla was about. I love the part about the guy spelling Mattingly wrong. His whole argument was about not having a username with over 8 characters. Doesn't his username have 10 characters? matingly23

I find this funny as hell. Am I missing something?

Yes. He created it a long time ago, on a forum where the limit was 8 characters. He's still using it now, even though that constraint is not present in these forums, since he got used to going by it.

Of course I'm not him, but that much seemed clear from his post. I'm speaking only on that, not the rest of the discussion.

Regardless, making fun of his username spelling doesn't invalidate his opinion. It's just ad hominem.

Thank you.

Apparently no teams are doing anything worth noting.

I am in the same boat, at work for another hour.

Trying to decide what a realistic scenario may be when I get home.

For the Direwolves I want to see the team be above .500
For the Cardinals a .500 record would be welcome.

That person could still be managing his team. My team hasn't changed at all since the season before last and might not change this season. And I only made one change the season before that, yet I'm still around. I just can't make any worthwhile upgrades yet. I also don't dump players who are having off seasons (though I will stop playing them) since I know that their ratings haven't changed and it would be pointless since I'd not find anyone better (without getting more PP).

Direwolves are at .500 and the Cardinals are at 4-8

And I would like to give a special shout out to Craig Stammen whose ERA after his second appearance was 162.00. At least he has been able to bring it down to 36.00 in his next three starts. 8 earned runs in 2 innings so far

looks like we're in the same division this season.... not sure how my boys will fare over a full season in gold, but hopefully they put up a good fight (sitting in first right now at 7-5)

my preww2 (silver champs!) team is across the way in the NC East...

After fighting all last season to avoid relegation back to bronze (finished 72-90, about 3 games above the drop-zone), the Healy Hoggs have started 2024 in fighting fashion, currently 11-3.

Perhaps the changes I made in the second half of 2023 are beginning to take effect. I added Kenny Lofton at CF, Aparicio at SS, and Oquendo at 2B to give some starch to my middle defense. Near season's end I put Corbin and Dierker into the rotation, and added Osuna and Tony Watson to the bullpen.

Am now looking to upgrade 1B, as Johnny Mize has consistently performed below replacement level for me.

I changed my overall card strategy midway through last season too, from only sell duplicates to only sell duplicates of non-Live cards and only keep Live cards I might actually use. That was what allowed me to buy Corbin and Dierker (and I could've further upgraded if I hadn't got silly and spent 3K from AH sales on packs, which netted me nothing better than 4-5 bronze). EDIT: My strategy still involves spending no real money.

Interestingly, in the AH I had a surprising amount of BINs on Iron cards, even though my BIN price was always higher than the highest price the card had previously sold for.
