Both our Trouts suck! Mine is hitting .197 now and slugging .333. I even have RHB HR set to 1.1. The performance variation of identical cards is the most frustrating part about this game because there is nothing you can do about it except wait. It's not like I'm going to replace him with Michael Brantley.

I feel like my only chance at improving much more than I have is to get lucky on packs. I haven't bought any in a few weeks. That's one of the best cards in the game. Congrats!

I think I'm going to go auction house to fill my holes at SS and 3B, and after that, yeah, probably back to ripping packs, since at that point, it's going to start costing a ton for each marginal upgrade.

I need to revamp my entire infield. I have Jose Ramirez at 3B, Simmons at SS (who I bought before this season), Vern Stephens at 2B and Arenado at 1B. None of them are going to cut it, although Simmons is playing out of his mind this year so far. I might train Arenado at SS though.

edit, I tried commissioner mode to see where he'd end up and he maxes out around 60, so nix that idea. He does get to 76 at 2B though which would make him a pretty decent one.

I miss you being in my division even less now. That Bonds card is nice.

I feel like it's getting to that point to go to packs and hope to get lucky. I guess my problem is I always waiver, open the first pack, get nothing, then rethink my strategy.

Curious how you, Matt, or others do it? Do you save up and buy a bunch, or just one at a time?

I usually buy 5 at a time minimum, when I used to do it. At least then I can feel ok about it even if I only get one decent card out of the 30.

Yeah, buying one is just going to make you sad when you get nothing. At least when you buy 5 packs, the odds of getting at least one decent card from the set is increased.

That probably makes more sense. I think I'll wait until the end of the season. Even if I get lucky I never have much luck putting a player in during the season anyway.

Still impressed by the pair of perfect games today. Have to say there was a pretty nice game by Keuchel in there too.

I have gotten pretty lucky and flipped a bunch of cards so I have a pretty hefty bank to buy packs with. I have been keeping a good amount for new releases as well.

I don't know how you throw a perfect game against a lineup that was Anson-Gwynn-Seymour-Trout-Williams-Betts-Rolen-Berra-Lindor. Wow.
Ouch! That was against me. Hope that's not an omen for things to come. Very impressive outing!

Awesome pull! He rounds out your outfield well alongside Hammering Hank and Mike Trout!

Medici - I'll be happy if I keep taking 2 of 3 each time we meet, but I'm afraid my luck isn't going to last. Don't know how much longer I can last with getting no production out of my corner infielders. Mattingly is really letting me down this year.

First Mays... then Musial... now Mattingly? What is the world coming to?

And 13 more matchups to go between us including 7 in September. These may decide the division... At least Mattingly finished the week with a hot bat. He'll come around.

I noticed after I complained he did have a couple good games. I have trouble being patient at times, which is probably why it's better I am away during the day.

I did notice we have a series real late. That should be fun if we can keep things close. I went to bed with a small lead, and woke up to a small deficit. Keeps things interesting!

Our division is pretty tough. According to power ranking Morningstar is 4th, you 5th and me 6th in our league

Envy you. Best pull I got from approx. 210 packs was Smoltz 96

My Smoltz 96 is 7-0 with a 2.20 ERA this year though.
