truth. first game (IIRC) players could jump, dive & climb the wall. many hours spent playing that game. also loved Bases loaded & kept all my stats in a notebook. MVP 05 was the next gen GOAT IMO. |

Since OOTP 2007...
Find the demo on the NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 CD, tried it, bought the game and did every years since than as I love the game Won't change this year as I wait for OOTP20 to be available on Steam in a couple of weeks or so.

Strat O Matic player before computers. Lance Haffner on C64 and first PC. Played High Heat and read about OOTP on baseballsimcentral while in the HH forum and checked it out, had to give it a try. Never looked back |

Played The Show since 2014 and only got into OOTP last year. Least to say I had been missing out!

I love seeing how people discovered OOTP. Especially those from today. As today there are many ways to discover it. Is interesting to say the least.

Since OOTP 15... I could not believe such a game existed. I played it soo much that I'd get headaches from staring at the screen for hours..lol!

Lance Haffner! I remember that. We had found Pursue The Pennant (the PC title - I had played the tabletop version which we preferred to Strat O Matic) prior to that. Haffner was worthy, but PTP really beat it in every facet so we never played it much.

Since folks are going with other systems too...
Started with Earl Weaver 1.5 for the PC, then to Tony Larussa. Was asked to beta test a new game from Sierra called Front Page Sports: Baseball. Helped with all aspects of that for all versions, including taking photos of Atlanta- Fulton Co. Stadium from all angles to be used by their 3D modelling team. Created perfectgame.com website for PC baseball simulations and tried APBA, PTP, Dynasty League, Diamond Mind and many other baseball sims. PureSim by fellow Sierra testing Shaun Sullivan and of course OOTP v1.0 and up through several others. Learned very quickly what I liked about games and what works and doesn't work. Have been lazily designing my own game to make up the shortcomings of the others, but have to say that OOTP gets a lot mostly right and has kept mine on the backburner completely.

You know, I also migrated from Diamond Mind Baseball but not fully until around version 13.

I had Season Ticket Baseball, but it seemed very buggy. But then I discovered OOTP 13 about 12 years later...WOW! Talk about an overhaul, WAY better
